What will you make sparkle?

At Stamp Club this afternoon we used the stamp set from the Spooky Night Suite on page 52 & 53 in the Holiday Catalog.  I brought out the other sets I had to use this time of year ~ specifically for Halloween.  Gina Buzby, who LOVES Halloween immediately commented on this stamp set, Season to Sparkle on page 43 in the Holiday Catalog.  Her comment was how easy it would be to use this set for a variety of events, not just Halloween!!!

Stampin' Up!'s TUESDAY UPDATE was in complete agreement with Gina!  The picture shows some other ways to use this set.  Stampin' Up! said:

One of the best things about many of our stamp sets is their flexibility. Many elements can be used for any season with the right kind of cardstock, Designer Series Paper, or ink color. This week, our concept artists have used the elegantly adorable Season to Sparkle Stamp Set to create projects for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day–all from the same set!

Colorful Seasons w Glossy Cardstock

Fall Leaves

Stampin' Up! is carrying GLOSSY CARDSTOCK (page 194) once again (it was included in the annual catalog years ago).  It's back!    One of the techniques that works well with this cardstock is called POLISHED STONE.  The leaves on the card above are created with this technique ~ you will need your ink refills and cotton balls.  Print out the directions below.

Gold plaid season's greetings

This is the 'seasons greetings' card we made in my Christmas Card Class last Saturday morning.

Gold plaid cheers to a new year

And, this is the 'cheers to a new year!' card.  Can you tell I am in 'love' with this suite?  October is right around the corner and guess what?  Stampin' Up! is making it easier for us to have all of the Designer Series Paper that we want.  Beginning on Sunday if you buy three packages of DSP, your fourth one will be FREE!  Put this suite on your October List ~ I know you will find lots of uses and make lots of cards to send to special friends and family!

Yummy Designer Series Paper........

I know you've seen this picture on page 36 in the Holiday Catalog ~ great ways to use the pretty Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This package of DSP is a little different ~ there are four designs using champagne, copper, gold and silver foil and you get 3 of each of the designs.  However, the designs are single sided ~ the back is plain so you do NOT have to decide which side to use ~ what a relief!

Gold plaid story begins

The stamp set that goes with this Year of Cheer Suite is called Cheers to the Year and includes greetings for Christmas, the New Year and weddings.  I put this card in the mail today to my nephew, Mark, and his bride to be, Dawn.  The saying in the center says ~ ....and so your story begins.....!  Their wedding is this coming Friday ~ so excited for them!  More cards tomorrow using this fabulous suite!

Janie's Leaves

Janie sent me this picture yesterday ~ along with this note....."Colorful Season stamp set and die set are a super value because it contains content for ALL 4 seasons!  I used the fall leaves and die to make a box of 6 notecards.  I made two cards each of orange, yellow and green cardstock.  For the leaves I added Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The foil leaf vein/outline overlay was cut from gold, rose gold and copper foil.  The set is going to my cousin, Jan, in SC who is recuperating from a left knee replacement.  The deep colors of the leaves accented by the shiny foil overlay will make her smile.  She sends me cards generated on her laptop.....she will be hard pressed to compete with these Stampin Up! cards!"

Lovely!  Thanks for sharing, Janie!  Susan Elise

Merry Cafe ~ Hello Fall

Merry Cafe - Hello Fall

Can't you just smell the aroma of hot apple cider and feel the warmth of holding the cup when you are freezing at your favorite football game?  The stamp set is Merry Cafe on page 46 in the Holiday Catalog.  And, if you like this set you may also like Coffee Cafe on page 31 in the annual catalog.  The directions are below ~  click on it to print it off and save it in your CREATIVE IDEA FILE!

Painted Christmas

I mentioned in my September Newsletter on Monday that I had received a card using the Painted Harvest stamp set (page 49 in the Holiday Catalog) as a Christmas Card!  Really this set is an "around-the-year" stamp set ~ I think it could be used every month and for every occasion.  I promised to post the card so here it is today.  The demonstrator who created it is Georgia Giguere, a lovely lady that we met on our very first cruise with Stampin' Up! ~ at dinner on our way to Alaska.  Enjoy!

Didn't get my Newsletter?  Let me know if you would like to be on my list ~ I would be happy to add you.  I send the newsletter once or twice a month to update you on Stampin' Up! specials, tell you about our products, explain new ways to use our tools, inspire you to new ideas and tell you about upcoming classes in the Cat/Art Studio.  EMAIL ME.

Purrrrfect size for the 1/8" Copper Trim

Good Morning ~ Some of you were asking about the tape we used in our class as it was the absolute purrrrfect size to attach the very small trim we were using on our card, below ~

Painted Harvest Sunflower #2

Feeling guilty I admitted that it was not a tape that Stampin' Up! has in the catalog but that my friend, Diane, brought to me as a gift.  It is double sided and very easy to use.  I asked Diane for her source and yesterday she told be that she ordered it from Scor-Pal out of Canada and that, if your order was at least $79, shipping was free.  I got the following message from Diane this morning ~ Morning.  I was looking around the net and Wal Mart has scor tape on line   the 1/8 roll was about 3.00.  Diane

THANKS for your help, Diane!!!  I would be happy to put together an order so that we can save $ on the shipping.  Let me know if you are interested.  And, here are all the products that we used for the pretty card above (all the Stampin' Up! products we used ~ smile!).

Favors at my Open House this past weekend...

Treat Tubes 1

It is difficult to STOP using the Stampin' Up! Holiday products on page 53 of the catalog.  I put candy corn into the Treat Tubes (plastic) and decorated them using the Cat Punch and the Vintage Crochet Trim.

Test Tubes 2

The cats are punched out of the 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, Spooky Night.  The problem is that when you punch out the 'whole' cats you also get cat parts.  I saved all of the cat parts and wondered what to do with them.  Making these tags was the answer ~ some of the tag cats just seem to 'hide'!  Click on any of the images below to go directly to my online store (and, while you are there, be sure and check out the CLEARANCE RACK to save some crafting money!).
