Today's Sneak Peak is from the new catty samples posted on the boards in the Trading Post on cruise. We are getting so close to the new catty that I thought it might create a little excitement!!!! I love this new set ~ when you get your new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog you can find it on page 65 ~ Sweets for the Sweet!
Our pedi-cab driver took us to Beacon Hill Park which was just beautiful! And, there is a special area reserved for peacocks who run freely all over the park. Our driver feed them some kind of grain out of his hand! I love the colors!!!
And, you can feed the ducks too! Did I mention that it was a very cool evening ~ by the time we got back to the ship we were piled high with blankets! It was a lovely ride! Tomorrow ~ samples from the boards!
Our cruise ship stopped in Victoria for 6 hours on the last night of our cruise. I would have loved to have had TEA AT THE EMPRESS HOTEL but we didn't (I guess we will have to go back!). The hotel was built at the turn of the century and opened in 1908. It has 477 rooms and 4 restaurants and, of course, is THE place to visit! However, Alan and I took a pedi 'rickshaw' from the ship all around the town! Amazing ~ one guy riding his bike and pulling us. He is working his way through school and doesn't want to go into debt so sometimes he takes 3 or 4 'tours' a day. We were well informed about Victoria when we got back to the ship!
This is a Monkey Puzzle Tree and our guide said it was considered a sign of wealth as it was brought in to the area during the gold mining era and was very expensive. It is a very large tree and very strange looking! I thought the branches did look like very long monkey tails!
Aren't the homes darling? Tomorrow ~ Parks and Peacocks! Thanks for stopping by! se
May 24, and our ship pulled into Skagway Alaska. We had booked an excursion on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway. This railway was born in the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898! Once you travel on it you can't help but be absolutely amazed how it was ever built in the first place! The White Pass & Yukon Route climbs from sea level in Skagway to almost 3,000 feet at the Summit in just 20 miles and features steep grades all the way. Tight curves around the mountains called for a narrow gauge railroad. The rails are three feet apart on a 10 foot wide road bed! There are two tunnels and numerous bridges and trestles! Work on one of the tunnels took place in the dead of winter with heavy snow and temperatures as low as 60 below!
This picture was taken in the Trading Post, Stampin' Up!'s hospitality room on the cruise. A lot of the Demonstrators who earned cruise took their families with them this year so SU made sure there were activities for everyone! This is literally a bucket of buttons! And, this cute little guy is searching for one RED BUTTON in the bucket to win a prize! His Mom had plenty of time to socialize and check out all the swaps on the boards while he searched!

Today is supposed to be a really hot day in Hampton Roads (92 I think) so I thought I would cool you down by posting a couple of additional pictures from our cruise to Alaska with Stampin' Up! I tookthe first pictures on the flight back to Juneau on the float plane. The last picture is from the balcony of our room on the ship. And, yes, it is snow in the distance. Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!
Pretty Postage stamp set (#123097 (c), set of 4, $8.95) is from Stampin' Up!'s SUMMER MINI CATALOG. You can find the set on page 11. I took pictures of these samples in the Trading Post on cruise and wanted to share them with you. They are 3 x 3 cards with Mini Square Envelopes (#107309, Whisper White, 40 in the package). They are so easy to create. I keep extras to add to gifts quickly when you need that special handmade touch ~ you know it will be appreciated!
This is one of the pages displayed on the boards on our cruise in the TRADING POST. Notice the use of four different Big Shot dies ~ Top Note, #113463; Beautiful Butterflies, #114507; Daisies #2, #114520 and Fun Flowers, #121812.
This is the second page of the 2 page spread (the left hand corner image is the overlap of the first page ~ confusing!).
And here is a close up of the flowers ~ gorgeous and inspiring, don't you think. I would frame it ~ the heck with the album ~ too confining! I hope you enjoyed a album pages! Thanks for stopping by!
On the Stampin' Up! Cruise to Alaska there was a Hospitality Suite, the Trading Post, staffed by the wonderful ladies of SU's Event Staff! Thank you Ladies!!! One of the reasons to stop by every day was to spin the PRIZE WHEEL and get some free SU product! YES! Another reason to stop by was to take pictures of fabulous samples made by staff or contributed by those on the cruise. Here are some examples of beautiful scrapbook pages from the boards ~
