Stampin' Up!'s Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' Kit is a fabulous way to scrapbook or to make cards. Yesterday I hosted a Stamp-A-Stack and my friends ~ Andrea, Denise, Paula, Kim, Terrie, Donna, Michelle S., Marietta, Michelle P. and Betty joined me. They made 16 cards using one-half of the kit above.
Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scrappin' Kits are so easy to use! They use color coordinated (everything SU does seems to be color coordinated!) designer series papers, textured card stock and self adhesive accent pieces. The colors in this kit are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Basic Gray. The kit contains 3 sheets each of 12" x 12" double-sided DSP, 2 designs; 2 sheets of each color of textured card stock and three 12" x 12" self-adhesive accents. Everything is acid and lignin free. Below are several of the cards we created ~
My next Stamp-A-Stack will be in May and we will be making 16 cards using the theme Masculine cards and Humorous cards. Let me know if you are interested as I have a few spaces left to fill. Also, if you would like more information about yesterday's class, or you want your very own Spring Fever Kit, give me a call ~ 587-1548! Thanks for stopping by!
This is an early third Thursday (since March 1st was a Thursday) or at least it seems that way. Tonight is my THIRD THURSDAY CLASS and the theme is Easter/Spring. Here's another Shelli Card using the stamp set Elementary Elegance on page 15 of Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration brochure. She loves layering!!! Isn't it gorgeous???
My February Stamp-A-Stack was an all occasion class so we made get well, sympathy, thinking of you and a best wishes card. It was a busy class with everyone making four cards of each design. My March Stamp-a-Stack is this coming Saturday morning so I am busy cutting paper and getting ready!!! The theme this month is thank you cards.
I wanted to have a pretty card this morning for a quick post to let you know about my upcoming Thank You Stamp-a-Stack. I saw this lovely card by Sarah Wills. I don't know Sarah, she shared her card on Stampin' Connection ~ the 'idea place' for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators (so easy to use!). Which gives me the opportunity to tell you about my upcoming class ~

All the girls made gifts for their teachers. Two brand new stampers at my CALENDAR CLASS on Saturday morning ~ Menelika and Jackie! Neither one of these lovely ladies had ever stamped before and this was a really busy class ~ lots of different techniques ~ 12 of them, one for each of the months coming in 2012. They both did a fabulous job and Menelika was the one who sighed at the end and said, "I can't believe I survived this class!" Too funny!
Connie, Sharon and Evelyn (Evelyn made 2 calendars ~ one for a gift!)
I am repeating this class on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 28, beginning at 3 PM in the Cat/Art Studio. Each calendar is $10 and you can make as many as you would like. The price includes a CD Calendar Case to hold your 2012 calendar. Join me!
This was the third, and last, project we did on Tuesday night at the VIP Big Shot Class. It is made with the Lattice Die on page 222 in Stampin' Up!'s Idea Book and Catalog. It was hard to take the picture, sorry because it really is much prettier than it looks! Here are the directions ~

It's not too late to sign up for my Christmas Card Class next Sunday afternoon at 2 PM. You will be making 16 cards ~ 4 designs and four of each card. This will give you a great start on sending out those cards to your loved ones ~ all handmade by you!
This set is The Sounding Joy and you can find the stamp set in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalog on page 23. We will be making this card and using the new Cherry Cobbler embossing powder ~ it is lovely 'in person'!
Claire came by the other afternoon, Thursday I think (this week has been a little crazy!) and brought two Christmas cards. So I asked her if I could show you her work ~ her cards are so pretty. Who's Claire? She lives in northern Suffolk and is one of my team members. She has a group of ladies that she stamps with and they made these two cards at their last get together. Aren't they pretty? Remember, if you are interested in joining my team (and I would LOVE to have you) you have 48 hours to sign up and receive a BIG SHOT FREE! Call me if you would like more information ~ 757-587-1548. The other card will be at the bottom of this post ~ read some more information about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from my friend, Denise ~
How has being a Demonstrator improved my family life and the community?
Have you ever had a potential recruit tell you they can’t sign up because they don’t have enough time or they don’t want to spend time away from their family to do workshops? Well, being a Demonstrator doesn’t have to mean either of those! In fact, being a SU Demo can actually improve your family life, as it has mine.
I am a busy mom of 3 great kids. My youngest was only one year old when I first became a Demo, and my husband traveled a lot for work……sound familiar? I was looking for a way to add to our household income, and maybe even earn an all-expense paid vacation for my husband and I to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Working from home was a perfect fit for me since I could be here for my kids. I have since built my business around my family and my family’s schedule, mostly by having classes and clubs meeting regularly in my home.
This home-based business has grown and my family and community are reaping the benefits. The most obvious benefit is from the extra income I earn. We have been able to do things that otherwise we could not afford. And we have been able to give more to our church and charities. And of course, earning several incentive trips has been priceless!
Another way my family life has improved is that I am here for my kids when they need me. Since I work at home, I can arrange my schedule to go on field trips with them, drive them to school, and be here to welcome them home after school. I love that! Rather than coming home to an empty house, or having them go to an after-school program, they come home to me!
My kids are also learning a good work ethic by watching how I run my business. Occasionally they will help me prepare for a class, so they are also learning how to be good employees. They know I work hard and am rewarded for that hard work. There’s a great life lesson in that.
I believe that my community has benefited from me holding regular clubs and classes. Many craft stores that used to offer those things have closed, so this gives people a new place to come. And they meet new people here and build friendships. I just love that!
