Cranes

Cranes under construction

Cranes under construction at our SOUTHERN STARS team meeting on Saturday afternoon.  Sarah Swaim is getting married on the afternoon of Saturday, October 29, at Norfolk Botanical Gardens.  Sarah's wish for 1,000 paper cranes for her wedding prompted our involvement with this project.  We were able to create 86!

STARS meeting tomorrow...........Paper Cranes

Tomorrow afternoon, September 10, is my monthly meeting with my team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, SOUTHERN STARS.  It is going to be a really fun meeting for all 15 of us!  We are going to start the meeting making paper cranes for an upcoming wedding.  Sarah Swaim wants to have 1,000 cranes at her wedding in October at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens so we are going to help.  I have asked everyone to bring their BONE FOLDER to make it a little easier to do all the folding we will need to do.  We are using retired DESIGNER SERIES PAPER (you know that I have plenty and a wide variety!).  Marion Swaim, Sarah's Mom, sent me a picture of a crane that she made as a sample to show you.  I'll let you know how everything turns out!

Love showing off someone's stamp room!  Lynne is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and a member of my SU Team who has been working on redoing a bedroom in her home into her exclusive stamping space.  She recently mentioned that she was finishing up her project and I asked her to send me some pictures so that I could share her ideas with you.  Thank you, Lynne, for sharing and congratulations on a great job!  I know you will enjoy this well organized stamping space!

Lynne's Ink Pad & Marker Holder came from 'stamp -n- storage', a Minnesota company that has been in business three or four years and makes quality storage products for stampers.  They have a nice website ~ visit Stamp N Storage

Tic Tac Cat

Tic-Tac Cats

Yesterday afternoon was our monthly team meeting, SOUTHERN STARS, in the CAT/Art Studio.  I thought I would make little surprises for my team members and found a similar 'cat' on Pinterest.  The stamp set is Friends & Flowers and you can find it on page 46 in the Occasions Catalog.  The cover of Whisper White card stock is wrapped around a container of Tic Tacs so it is a TIC TAC CAT!

Measurements:  2 3/4" x 6" Whisper White card stock scored at 1 7/8", 2 1/2", 4 3/8" and 5".  The ribbon is a retired Stampin' Up! ribbon that I have been hoarding because I love it (do you ever do that?), Pretty in Pink 1 1/4" Grosgrain Striped Ribbon.  The ribbon is tied around the little box of Tic Tacs so you can pull it up without disturbing the cat!  It is always important not to disturb the cat!

Saturday's Template Swap

Saturday afternoon was the monthly meeting of my TEAM of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators ~ always loads of fun to get together to talk about our stamping business and STAMP!  Another thing that we do, consistently, is SWAP.  We usually choose a specific catalog, holiday or limit the swap to an occasion.  Margaret Spencer suggested that we have a TEMPLATE SWAP for our March meeting and that I choose a template for everyone to follow.  Here is the template that we used.  I found it on a website (MOJO MONDAY) and posted it on our SOUTHERN STAR FACEBOOK page for everyone to see.  Please use it if you would like to.  My next post will show you our swap cards ~ feel free to show us your creations also!

And, if you are interested in being part a fun and crafty group of ladies think about joining my team, SOUTHERN STARS.  We would love to have you join us and Stampin' Up! has a fabulous deal on joining during SELL-A-BRATION (ending March 31)!  YOU can become a demonstrator for just $99 and choose $30 more in FREE products for your Starter Kit.  The kit ships for free and you get a total of $155 of products for only $99!  WOW!   Email me if you have questions or if you would like more information!  YES!

Weekend Swap w Southern Stars

Swap Mr. Bunny

The monthly meeting of my good friends and team members, SOUTHERN STARS, met on Saturday afternoon from 2 PM to almost 6 PM.  Much longer than usual BUT it was for a good reason ~ we were stamping our little heads off!  It was our FEBRUARY SHOE BOX SWAP!  I know you are thinking why in heavens name would we want to swap shoe boxes!  It was what was in the shoe boxes that was important ~ all the ingredients for each of us to make a special card that was in the box.  Each person made a card, brought their box and then (from 2 to 6!) everyone made the cards ~ eleven total!  WOW!  I will share those cards with you this week ~ you will love them.  The cute one above was created by Marie Shaughnessy.

Southern Stars Swap

My Stampin' Up! team members got together yesterday afternoon for our monthly meeting.  We do a swap at every meeting and the theme for this one was open ~ any stamp set in the Occasions or the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  We always vote on our favorite during the meeting.  The creator of our favorite yesterday was Lynne Galewski ~ congrats, Lynn (her card is the first posted).  She used the Bundle on page 18 that includes the Rose Wonder stamp set and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.  And, a fabulous paper piecing technique we'll talk about later this week.  Interestingly enough two members of the team used the same set and the same technique!  I wanted to share all these fabulous cards with you.  Thanks for stopping by!  Susan Elise
