Happy Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING from the fat little turkey who escaped!  This turkey is made with our Stampin' Up! small oval punch and the scallop circle punch.  His head is one of our new Sweet Treat Cups.  You can find them in the Holiday Mini Catalog, page 6 & 7.  I have created a 'trap' door in the inside of the card to make it really easy peasy to get those jelly beans out!  Have a lovely day!

Build-A-Bear Mommy & Me event is coming!

I am having a MOMMY & ME BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP soon and I hope you will join me!  I have two events scheduled for December, the first one is on Friday evening, December 11, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  The second event is for the following morning, Saturday, December 12, at 10:00 AM. 

     We will be viewing a new animated TV special featuring HOLLY & HAL MOOSE from the BABW, have fun snacks during the show, have a Make & Take using our Stampin' Up! Build-A-Bear products, stickers and store coupons!  There will also be a FREE DVD given away!

     Please contact me if you would like to attend.  There is no cost, all adults must be accompanied by a child at least four years of age.  Space will be limited because it is being held in the studio in my home.  Email me or call me to reserve your space.

Cute Mr. Snowman

My friend, Phyllis, brought me this cute snowman last weekend.  He is made so that you can insert a votive in the box ~ of course, it would be one of those battery operated votive lights so that you don't have to worry.  Phyllis used my stamp set, Simple Seasonal Thanks, on page 28 of Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalog.  He is designed to be used as a thank you note from a child and, in the center of the snowman, it says ~ Dear ________, Thank you so much for the _________.  I like it a lot!  Sincerely, __________    Now that I think about it I may make some of those up and use them after Christmas!  LOL!

 That's what my niece, Catie, is selling her handmade earrings for!  She is saving all her money to help pay for a trip to Alaska with her orchestra group.  Do you recognize what she used to make these cute earrings?  That's right!  Check out Stampin' Up!'s Corduroy Buttons on page 181 in the Idea Book and Catalog.  And, you can find the pretty Filigree Designer Brads on page 179.  Of course, you can make your own but what a bargain.  Let me know if you are interested in purchasing a pair of Catie's earrings ~ they would make great stocking stuffers!  And, Catie would be so happy!  Call me at 757-587-1548.

Last Day to sign up for the Holiday Recipe Swap

This picture was taken at our last Recipe Swap.  Becky, Brenda, Bea and Jan were tasting some of the delicious food that the members of the swap brought to taste that day.  Today is the last day to sign up for the next swap featuring Holiday Recipes.  Email me or give me a call and I will give you all the details!  I promise it will be fun and that you will get a whole album full of great recipes!

Have you tried our marvelous Markers?  How about creating a marvelous card, only to get frustrated when you couldn't find a marker the right color to match? With Stampin' Up!'s exclusive coordinating color families, that will never happen again.

 

You can achieve a soft, watercolor look with them as well.  Just outline your image with a Stampin' Write marker, and then use a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or water-dampened watercolor brush to pull and
blend the marker colors into the area you desire.

 

You can custom-color images by coloring directly on the stamp. Use the flexible brush tip on its side to shade and blend colors right on the rubber. The fine point lets you easily color small areas of the stamp.

A Windy Night in Norfolk

About a half hour ago we heard a terrible wind.  Alan and I were standing in the kitchen, he was looking out the front window and saw Adrienne and Mark's tree go over.  The wind was from the East and down it went right over their front lawn.  An angel was watching over them, it didn't hit the house, the car, the roof or their neighbor's home.  What a blessing!  Susan Elise, 7 PM, Thursday, November 12 ~ in the eye of a nor'easter!
