More of Shelli's gorgeous work

Shelli's Bird I thought you might enjoy seeing another project that Shelli showed at Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Meeting in January.  This is an item from the Occasions Mini Catalog, on page 34.  It is made of chipboard so it is nice and heavy and, although it looks small, actually measures 8 1/4" X 3 3/8".    It can even  be used as a book as shown in the little picture underneath.

The On Board Books come in the shape of the Bird, a Scallop Circle or a Heart and a great buy at $4.95!  You get eight of the shapes and one key ball chain to hold it all together.  They are acid free and can be used as a gift, mini album or a keepsake.  You can decorate these with DSP, photos, ribbons ~ any way that makes your heart sing!  Let me know if you would like a BIRD CLASS in the Spring ~ I think it would be fun!

Happy Snow Day!

Shelli's pageWhat a gorgeous day!  I love having all this snow ~ I feel like I have waited a long time for the snow predictions to actually come true so I am going to enjoy every minute.  Of course, that meant that Sharon had to reschedule her Stampin' Up! workshop that was scheduled for this afternoon and that I will probably have to cancel my Valentine Card Class tomorrow afternoon (we'll see, ladies ~ I will give you a call!) but, what a great reason to make changes!

So, I thought I would post this gorgeous picture of an album page that Shelli Gardner, CEO & Founder of Stampin' Up!, made at Leadership which was in Phoenix at the beginning of January (hasn't this month just flown?).  Now, I didn't go to Leadership this year but I found this picture and knew you would want to see it.  Shelli loves anything VINTAGE and it is certainly reflected in the projects she does.  Did you know that she has a special icon that marks her Signature Collection in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog?  There is a little slanted heart that marks products that Shelli loves because they reflect her personal style.  You can see the icon on page 26 in the Occasions Mini Catalog ~ it is the one I thought of immediately because it is next to the information on the stamp set, Vintage Vogue.  Talk about SO SHELLI!!!!

Make your own wrapping paper...

DSC_0003 Sharon's birthday is today and I needed to get her gift wrapped so that Barbara could drop it off on her way home (thank you, Barbara!).  I love the Jumbo Wheel, Very Vintage, on page 27 in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalog and haven't had time to use it.  So, I got out my roll of white paper, my Real Red jumbo ink cartridge and went to work.  I quickly had some great looking wrapping paper and a little card to tie on the package.  The butterfly on the card is embossed and die cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die from the mini too.  Like it?

I can't live without.....

If you have known me very long you know exactly which Stampin' Up! product I can't live without..Crystal Effects!  I always have a bottle close by to add that extra finishing touch on a stamped image.  I think I heard some of my downline (my fabulous group of Demonstrators) whispering behind my back that they think I drink the stuff.  Wrong! But, I did once fix my slipper with Crystal Effects!  It's a great glue.

So, anyway I thought I would show you a technique that I have been teaching my Stamp Clubs this month.  It is called FAUX ICICLES and, since we are supposed to have a snowy weekend (wouldn't that be grand???), it is soooooooooo appropriate!!!!

DSC_0005 DSC_0006 Supplies Needed:

Crystal Effects

Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Wax Paper

Time

1  Squeeze a line of Crystal Effects across your wax paper.

2.  Drag the Crystal Effects downward using the nozzle of the bottle without squeezing the bottle to add additional Crystal Effects.

3.  Cover with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and shake off the excess.  Let dry.  I try to do this before I go to bed and let it dry through the night.

4.  In the morning, gently peel the icicles from the wax paper, cut to size and attach with SNAIL.  They can be used on a card or on a scrapbook page.  They could also be used on a pretty package or our Decor Accents Blocks (Decor Elements Catalog). I hope you will try it!

*The picture on the right shows the icicles drying on the wax paper.

I've added a Valentine Class....

My first VALENTINE CARD CLASS was last Saturday morning and my second one will be tomorrow evening, Thursday, January 28.  The class seems to be a popular one (it must be the sweet treat cups!) so I am adding an additional class for Sunday afternoon, January 31, from two to four.  Let me know if you are interested ~ five Valentine card/projects for $10 ~ sweet treat cups are included!  I have room for you and I know you would enjoy it ~ BRING A FRIEND!

The first three people who email to tell me which stamp set in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalog is designated to assist in the Haiti Relief program win a prize.  Good Luck!

How do I use the new punches?

Last night was my STAMPING 101 CLASS and Kris Hoppock and I worked with Stampin' Up!'s new punches ~ the Pinking Hearts Border, Pinking Hearts Corner, Scallop Trim Corner and the Scallop Trim Border (FREE in the Sale-A-Bration brochure!).  We were using a combination of the Corner and Border punches to make squares and rectangles.  If you would like to learn to use the new punches I will be having a class, GET PUNCHY, on Saturday morning, February 27, at 10 AM.  I will be sending out my February Newsletter soon ~ check for the class details and to sign up.

Haitian Relief

Kits

In addition to Stampin' Up!'s donation of $2.00 from every stamp set, I (heart) Hearts, sold they purchased enough supplies to make 5,000 hygiene kits.  The above picture show Stampin' Up! staff, that usually would be packing your stamps and accessories, instead packing the kits to be sent to Haiti.

One note ~ I had one winner yesterday.  Linda Burgess was the prize winner but, I was looking for three, so send me an email ~ YOU might be a winner too!  Tomorrow I will post samples using the I (Heart) Hearts stamp set for you.  Have a nice weekend.  Susan Elise
