Haiti Relief Update

There are just a few days left to participate in Stampin′ Up!’s Haitian relief efforts! Until February 28, 2010, Stampin′ Up! is setting aside $2 from the sale of the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set to be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. So far, demonstrators around the world have sold 11,895 sets, which equates to over $20,000 to be donated to this fund--but we don’t want to stop now! You still have two days left to participate in this effort and join other Stampin′ Up! customers and demonstrators in making a difference in lives of those who continue to suffer in Haiti.

I Heart Hearts

This new stamp set is available in both wood mount (#117010) and clear mount (#118571). You can place your order directly on my Stampin' Up! website (once there, click on shop now). Please e-mail me if you have any questions!

Easter is April 4

Easter and Spring are both coming soon!  I know, I know ~ it really doesn't feel that way today!   Stampin' Up! has a cute addition to their Easter stamp sets this year.  You can find the EGGCELLENT EGGS KIT in the Occasions Mini Catalog on page 23.  I took time to play with it the other night after I found some plastic pearlized eggs at Farm Fresh.  The kit contains a lot of product, sells for $9.95 and is fun to play with.  It includes egg stands, Rub-Ons, die-cut flowers and leaves, and adhesive-backed rhinestones (they are so easy to use!).  This product is available only while supplies last so let me know if you are interested and I will add your EGGCELLENT EGGS KIT to my next order!

Too Cute!

Fabric is one of the industry's hottest trends right now, and the best part is, you don't even need to be a seamstress to get in on the action! Below you will see a few projects created with Stampin' Up!'s Big Shot.  A Ponytail holder, a Quilt square, baby's Onesie, a Memory Book cover and a Headband:

You can create gorgeous fabric accessories and home décor, all without ever touching a sewing machine. There are myriad of options for seamstresses and non-seamstresses alike, and now you can create fabric-oriented projects that you can be proud of!  My class on Sunday using the Flower Folds die (page 201 in the Idea Book & Catalog) can get you on your way!

Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares

Are those Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares high on you TO DIE FOR LIST?    Here's a cute way to package them for little gifts for friends or favors at a party.

DSC_0014 Using the Petal Card Die for Stampin' Up!'s BIG SHOT, cut the shape you see with four petals.  Fold in the sides and fold up the bottom of the designer series paper.  I attached two mini glue dots to the piece at the bottom that I folded up.  Insert the Ghirardelli Chocolate Square, fold down the top and tie with a ribbon.  Another easy peasy cut little gift for a friend ~ tuck it in your pocket or your purse and surprise someone when you are out today!

Another BIG SHOT Class...

This class is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, February 28, at two.  The purpose of the class is to learn to use Stampin' Up!'s FLOWER FOLDS DIE (on page 201 in the Idea Book & Catalog) to make the VOTIVE CANDLE HOLDER and the FABRIC FLOWER PIN in the picture below.  The supply fee is $10 and we will have two projects.  If you have a HOT GLUE GUN please bring it with you as we will be gluing the fabric flower together instead of sewing it together.  I will have the other supplies that you will be using.

DSC_0004When you finish with the class you will have the votive candle holder and the flower pin to take home with you.  Come and enjoy some creative time with me!  I look forward to showing you how easy these projects can be!

Quilting with the Big Shot

My friend Martha, a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and my upline, loves to quilt.  The pictures below show a quilt she made in about 6 hours using the Big Shot to cut all the scallop circles.  She used the Scallop Circle Die and the Scallop Circles #2 die to cut 8 layers of fabric at one time.  She cut 64 of the large scallops!  She sewed her borders on and then glued the scallops on the quilt with Stampin' Up!'s Glue Stick!  She then took it to a friend to do the actual machine stitching.  Thanks, Martha, for letting me show your beautiful quilt here at StampingPurrfection!!!

Whole Quilt Back - Martha This is the back of Martha's quilt!  Shall we get Martha to join us in the Cat/Art Studio for a Quilting Class?  Let me know if you would like to learn how to make a quilt using the BIG SHOT DIES!

I thought I would show you some of the swap cards from our Southern Stars meeting last night.  Not everyone swapped so I won't have 12 to show you but I thought you could get some ideas you might use.  The first one is Billi's and the second one is Christina's.
