WATERCOLOR WONDER CRAYONS CLASS

SATURDAY, APRIL 3, 2 - 4 PM

$15/3 PROJECTS      EMAIL ME TO SIGN UP

How does this work?

DSC_0001Linda and I have been friends for years.  She and I took calligraphy classes together a long time ago.  When I first became a Demonstrator, Linda had a workshop in her home on a Saturday morning in the Spring (probably 9 or 10 years ago) and I met some of her friends.  She then started teaching school and got so busy I thought i would never see her again!!!  However, she retired recently, joined a stamp club and made her own Christmas cards  ~ and they were lovely!

So, here she is in the Cat/Art Studio on Friday afternoon with her Stampin' Around Wheel, Handle and Ballet Blue Ink cartridge.  She had never used it!  So she brought it so I could show her how to use it!!!  I thought, Oh My Gosh, what if it is all dried up, doesn't turn or whatever???  I showed her how to take the wheel out, put it back in and use it (that's my JOB!) and then we tried it and it worked perfectly!  That little ink cartridge was as good as new ~ you gotta love that!

And, then we got busy we the real reason for her visit ~ she signed up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!  I am so excited to have her and she is going to love her new job!!  I am so pleased that she took advantage of the 15% discount on the Stampin' Up! Starter Kit and she got an additional FREE STAMP SET ~ the beautiful alaphabet set, Lovely Letters.  So, what goes around, comes around ~ here we are again celebrating over beautiful letters.

You have 48 hours to take advantage of the Starter Kit Offer ~ you can sign up on My Website Here.

I'd LOVE to have you!!!

Eggstra Eggs?

DSC_0005Do you think Laura and Cyndi might have too many eggs?  They are both so busy getting ready for Easter and their eggs turned out darling!  They were using the Eggcellent Eggs Kit on page 23 in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Stampin' Up! announced several weeks ago that their supply of these kits had been depleted so we can't order any of the kits.  It's really too close to Easter any way!

But, you can order other items in the Occasions Mini Catalog which runs through April 30.  You might be interested in the punches, the Recipe by Design box (a great wedding or Mother's Day gift) or our On Board Books ~ the scallop circle, heart and bird shapes.  I'll be using those in my Stamp Clubs this month.  And, what's next?  There will be a Summer Mini Catalog coming soon to your mail box!

Welcome Neighbor

This paper pad can be found in Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-Bration brochure and is available to YOU for today through Wednesday.  I thought I would show you a fun way to use it ~

DSC_0005This is the first step to creating a darling Easter Egg with our Big Shot die, Frame Oval Scallop, in the Idea Book and Catalog on page 199.

1.  I cut out the egg using the die and then create the decoration on the egg using the scallop from around the oval shape.

2.  The envelope for the decorated egg (originally 'created by' Jimmy Morton!) is two pieces of the 6 x 6 paper from the Welcome Neighbor paper pad.  Score each piece at 3", fold, and adhere the two center pieces together with your Snail creating 3 equal sections.

3.  Cut off 1/4" at the bottom so that the folded piece will fit in Stampin' Up!'s Medium size envelope.

4.  Fold back each upper corner.  Tie with a ribbon or add a belly band to hold the folder together.  Insert decorated egg.  This pretty paper is available only until March 31 which is the end of the Sale-A-Bration promotion for Stampin' Up! ~ with any order of $50 in product you can choose this paper pack, stamp sets or our Scallop Border Punch.  Let me know if I can help you with an order or you can order on line by going to  My Website

A Visit from Flat Stanley

DSC_0033      Have you heard the story about Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown?  Probably not, unless you have children or grandchildren in elementary school.  The story goes like this ~ One morning the Lambchop family awoke to find their son, Stanley, had been smashed flat by an enormous bulletin board in his room.  The doctor said that Stanley was fine ~ just flat.  When he got used to being flat, Stanley liked it because he could do lots of things ~ like going in and out of rooms with the door shut.  He could retrieve things that others could not reach.  He could even be folded and placed in an envelope for long trips to see his friends.  I'll let you get the book to hear the end of the story.

Yesterday, Flat Stanley visited one of my Stamp Club!  He came with Linda Doggins who has been entrusted with Flat Stanley by a  friend of hers, Evan, who is eight.  Linda lives in Yorktown and  is taking Flat Stanley with her wherever she goes so that she and Even can write about his travels (what great motivation to learn to read and write!).  Here is a picture of Linda with Flat Stanley.

While Flat Stanley was in Norfolk, he met Stella Stamper!  She was new, in fact, she was 'pieced together' during the Stamp Club meeting.  Linda took Stella home to live with her and to travel with Flat Stanley.  Here is a picture of Stella Stamper.  DSC_0039 And, both Stella Stamper and Flat Stanley got to attend their first very birthday party.  Agnes, a long time stamper who is also from Yorktown, was celebrating her birthday.  You just never know what might happen when you come to stamp club ~ besides lots of fun stamping!!!  Here's Agnes and her birthday cake ~ what a fun stamp club get-together!!!

Watercolor Wonder Crayons

Do you have the Watercolor Wonder Crayons?  Do you love using them as much as I do?   Here is a great new Stampin' Up! video sharing some cool techniques using our Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  The crayons are on page 154 in the Idea Book and Catalog.  I have had mine for four years and I think they are going to last forever, they are definitely a good buy.  I have a WATERCOLOR CRAYON BASIC CLASS scheduled for Saturday, April 3, from 2 PM to 4 PM.  The class fee is $15.00 for three cards ~ three techniques to use with your Watercolor Crayons.  Join me!

Spring Card Class Reminder...

DSC_0001This cute, and easy-peasy, bunny was made by Sally and I took the picture the night of the SHOE BOX SWAP.  Sally is a very talented stamper that I am pleased to say is part of my team, Southern Stars.  She stamps for the JOY of it, loves color and fun stamping projects and is always willing to share.  She has been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 2005 and has never done a workshop.  She does make and sell her cards and she works full time at NASA as a, or THE (I am not sure which) LIBRARIAN.  She is a wonderful lady!

I wanted to use her bunny as a reminder for a SPRING/EASTER CARD CLASS this Thursday evening, MARCH 25, at 6:30 in the Cat/Art Studio.  The class fee is 5 cards for $10.97 or 10 cards for 17.97 (5 designs, 2 of each) and includes all supplies except your adhesive.  Give me a call, 587-1548, or email me and let me know if you can join me for this fun class.

Here it is .... Monday!

And, I promised you pictures of the card swap from my Southern Stars team meeting on Thursday of last week ~ I am sooooo far behind.  FINALLY,here I am with the pictures and I hope you get lots of good ideas for your own cards.  The cards below were from our STAMPIN' UP! SHOEBOX SWAP and the theme was BIRTHDAY CARDS!   Tonesia is on the right ~ with her crimper ~ and Rosanne is on the left.  They are both making cards the night of the swap.  It works this way ~ everyone who comes makes a card and then brings the supplies for everyone else to make the same card.  Everyone goes home with samples from everyone who attends.  It was also a pizza party but I don't have any pizza-eating-pictures!!!
