The youngest attendee at our recipe swap

Kelly and Abigail at the swapThe young lady in the picture is Abigail Berg and her Mom, Kelly!  Kelly brought a delicious SUMMERTIME PASTA SALAD made with peppers, grape tomatoes kalamata olives, marinated artichokes with fusilli pasta.  YUM!  Abigail was more interested in the Cat/Art Studio then she was in the food!

DSC_0003 Adrienne Allen brought something called a SLUSH COCKTAIL that was made with tea, frozen lemonade, frozen orange juice and brandy.  She brought it over frozen and let it warm up a little so it was slushy, it really lived up to its' name!!!  You put the slush in your cup and add 7-UP! (made by Stampin' Up! of course ~ just kidding).  More tomorrow ~ and SEE YOU SATURDAY!

Let's start with desserts...

Janie's Strawberry BruschettaYesterday's RECIPE SWAP turned out to be lots of fun and DELICIOUS!   I thought I would share some pictures with you ~ starting with desserts (right, Monica?).  The picture on the right is Janie Dodge's STRAWBERRY BRUSCHETTA ~ a new twist to summer strawberry shortcake.  The strawberries are on top of whipped cream cheese which is on top of French bread with cinnamon sugar on it!

Frozen Lemonade Pie Recipe

The picture on the left is Cyndi Fisher's FROZEN LEMONADE PIE and it is a delicious dessert.  We all made 21 recipe cards to swap.  Most of us made the same card for all of our recipes.  NOT CYNDI!  She made all 21 cards different!!!  She is a new stamper and wanted to try out all of the techniques that she had learned recently.  LOVE THAT ENTHUSIASM!!!!  WAY TO GO, CYNDI!  (Oh, and Dawn did the same thing ~ also a new stamper!  YEA!)

Susan's Three Layer Strawberry Dessert Susan Williams also brought a strawberry dish ~ THREE LAYER STRAWBERRY DESSERT ~ that included jello, cool whip, strawberries and PRETZELS! Everyone loved it.  Susan drove down from Richmond to join us as she does once a month to come to her STAMP CLUB MEETING.  She is a sweetie!  And, a very talented stamper!

So, last but not least ~ Kay Perkins brought LEMON ICEBOX CHEESECAKE.  It was very tasty and there was just a little tiny piece left.  Kay said that her husband would be so glad that she had a piece to take home with her.  He was obviously hoping that we would NOT eat all of it!  Here's Kay's cheesecake:

Lemon Icebox Cheesecake YUM ~ DESSERTS WERE A REAL TREAT.  More tomorrow ~ salads, appetizers, etc.  My next RECIPE SWAP  will be at the end of September and the beginning of October, let me know if you are interested.

In the meantime, join me for some fun this weekend at my FLIP FLOPS & LEMON DROPS OPEN HOUSE ~ we'll be doing some stamping using the new stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalog.  They'll be doorprizes and refreshments.
