KATHY ARRANT won hands down!!!! Or feet first, or something! Just look at her GORGEOUS FLIP FLOPS! Kathy won First Prize ~ Stampin' Up!'s Assorted In-Color Textured Card Stock and a set of In-Color Markers. She and her Mother came together to the Open House. I have added a picture of her Mom, Peggy Jordan. Unfortunately, I didn't get a 'whole' picture of Kathy (sorry, Kathy) ~ just her gorgeous feet! More pictures of the Open House tomorrow!

Don't these ladies look happy? Recipe Swaps are like that, everyone seems to have a good time! My next swap will be this FALL and the subject will be HOLIDAY DISHES. The first meeting will be on Sunday afternoon, October 24, and the second meeting will be on Sunday afternoon, November 7, at 3 PM. By then we will all be ready for some new dishes to get us through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. I will start my SIGN UP LIST now so give me a call, 757-587-1548, or email me if you are interested ~ I guarantee you will enjoy yourself!
The young lady in the picture is Abigail Berg and her Mom, Kelly! Kelly brought a delicious SUMMERTIME PASTA SALAD made with peppers, grape tomatoes kalamata olives, marinated artichokes with fusilli pasta. YUM! Abigail was more interested in the Cat/Art Studio then she was in the food!
Adrienne Allen brought something called a SLUSH COCKTAIL that was made with tea, frozen lemonade, frozen orange juice and brandy. She brought it over frozen and let it warm up a little so it was slushy, it really lived up to its' name!!! You put the slush in your cup and add 7-UP! (made by Stampin' Up! of course ~ just kidding). More tomorrow ~ and SEE YOU SATURDAY!
Yesterday's RECIPE SWAP turned out to be lots of fun and DELICIOUS! I thought I would share some pictures with you ~ starting with desserts (right, Monica?). The picture on the right is Janie Dodge's STRAWBERRY BRUSCHETTA ~ a new twist to summer strawberry shortcake. The strawberries are on top of whipped cream cheese which is on top of French bread with cinnamon sugar on it!
The picture on the left is Cyndi Fisher's FROZEN LEMONADE PIE and it is a delicious dessert. We all made 21 recipe cards to swap. Most of us made the same card for all of our recipes. NOT CYNDI! She made all 21 cards different!!! She is a new stamper and wanted to try out all of the techniques that she had learned recently. LOVE THAT ENTHUSIASM!!!! WAY TO GO, CYNDI! (Oh, and Dawn did the same thing ~ also a new stamper! YEA!)
Susan Williams also brought a strawberry dish ~ THREE LAYER STRAWBERRY DESSERT ~ that included jello, cool whip, strawberries and PRETZELS! Everyone loved it. Susan drove down from Richmond to join us as she does once a month to come to her STAMP CLUB MEETING. She is a sweetie! And, a very talented stamper!
So, last but not least ~ Kay Perkins brought LEMON ICEBOX CHEESECAKE. It was very tasty and there was just a little tiny piece left. Kay said that her husband would be so glad that she had a piece to take home with her. He was obviously hoping that we would NOT eat all of it! Here's Kay's cheesecake:
In the meantime, join me for some fun this weekend at my FLIP FLOPS & LEMON DROPS OPEN HOUSE ~ we'll be doing some stamping using the new stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalog. They'll be doorprizes and refreshments.
This cute card shows you just how easy it is to use Stampin' Up!'s SWEET SCOOPS stamp set from the SUMMER MINI CATALOG. You can find it on page 10. You can get it with either wood blocks ( #117078, $18.95)) or for our clear blocks (#120078, $14.95). It reminded me of our recipe celebration this afternoon ~ pictures tomorrow of the yummy food and the recipe cards! Stay tuned!
Our Recipe Swap is tomorrow ~ Sunday afternoon, June 6, at 3 PM. I am looking forward to seeing you and to tasting your fabulous dishes! Remember your twenty-one 6 X 6 recipe cards need to be in their page protectors when you arrive. And, please add your name and phone number or email address on the back of each page in case someone has a recipe question for you. Thanks! See you tomorrow! Susan Elise
