CHRISTMAS CARD DESIGN STUDIO

Rosie's Card 1

This is the lovely card that Rosie designed last weekend in the CHRISTMAS CARD DESIGN STUDIO.  Don't you just love it?  She came with her stamp set, Rosie's Card 1

This is the lovely card that Rosie designed last weekend in the CHRISTMAS CARD DESIGN STUDIO.  Don't you just love it?  She came with her stamp set, Winter Post, and knowing that she loved Stampin' Up!'s new color ~ CHERRY COBBLER.

I placed the card on some of Stampin' Up!'s new designer fabric, you can see it on page 16 in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  And, there is paper to match.  Rosie used it in her card.  The Designer Series Paper, Deck the Halls (#120810), is on page 18.

Aren't the snowflakes pretty?  I made them using a new Big Shot die, Northern Frost (#120901) on page 38 in the Holiday Mini.  The die is easy to use and the snowflakes pop right out ~ you'll love how fast and east you can add these to your holiday decorations.

Remember:  One more DESIGN STUDIO get-together is scheduled for this coming weekend ~ Sunday afternoon from two to five.  Come anytime and design your card.  I am here to help.  Susan Elise

Day of Gratitude

Gift for Make & TAkes

Stampin' Up! included a Regional Training Meeting for us while we were in St. George, UT and a Regional Meeting always includes some time to do some Make & Takes.  The Regional was scheduled for Friday morning and the night before there was a take-out box on our bed when we returned to our room.  The picture shows the inside of the take-out box ~ everything we needed for our projects the next day!!!!  The stamp set that is hiding behind the stamp pads is Day of Gratitude (#120835 on page 7 in the Holiday Mini Catalog).  I finished all of my Make & Takes except the scrapbook page which I will post when I finish it ~ soon!  The other projects are below.  How do you like them?  Leave me a comment by Friday, October 1, and I will choose one person (or rather Alan will) for some blog candy!

Black Flourish Jewels

Decorating for the FALL SEASON and HALLOWEEN?  Stampin' Up! has some great new products to use in your HOME DECOR in the Holiday Mini Catalog!  For instance, check out the Designer Jewels called Black Flourish (#120987, $4.95) on page 8.  You get a 4" x 6" sheet of connected black rhinestones in three sizes that include a flourish and two lines ~ one large and one small. Jewels Applied

How would I ever get those on to a surface to decorate for Halloween???  There are directions on the back of the package.  The package includes the rhinestones AND a transfer sheet to make it easy to rub these little beauties on to a container, a card, a gift bag, a window or a pumpkin.

Pumpkin w Jewels Jewels Transfer Paper

This is the backing sheet, you can see the sticky transfer paper underneath ~ with the little block design.  I pulled off the backing sheet and put the jewels directly on to the transfer paper leaving the sticky side of the jewels up.  I then placed the jewels directly on to the pumpkin where I wanted them and pushed on them to assure that they stuck to the pumpkin.  Give me a call if you want more information, 757-587-1548, or go to my Stampin' Up! Website to place an online order.

Founder's Circle ~ Trip to Kenab

Chicago Airport I flew out on my birthday, last Wednesday, and we had a brief layover in Chicago.  So, of course, I had to visit with the Blues Brothers!  Too funny!

On Thursday morning we jumped on a bus (the trip was about two hours) and headed for Kenab, Utah to visit the facility where Stampin' Up! produces all of their fabulous stamps!!!  The production staff was outside waiting for us as we got off of the bus ~ a very nice welcome!!!!  I couldn't take any pictures inside the facility but I can give you some facts about the production of our stamps and show you a  peak into the pretty apartment that Shelli and her family have on the second floor of the facility.

First, some interesting facts:

  • At current production they can produce 16 to 22,000 stamp sets per day.
  • Sheets of stamps are die cut about every 8 seconds.
  • The packagers handle about 60,000,000 pieces per year.
  • Waste rubber is ground into mulch for use by charitable organizations (for example, SU has built a park locally for children and the ground under the playground equipment is all rubber stamp pieces!)
  • 81% of the production staff have been in their jobs 5 years or more.
  • Of that 81%, 43% have been there 10 years or more.

This picture shows our welcoming committee!  The other pictures are of Shelli's apartment ~ the living room w toys, the guest bedroom (wouldn't you love to stay there?), the den and laundry room.  Shelli is always so welcoming and it is a treat to have your picture taken with her!!!  I feel so fortunate!

Cute Fabrics from Founders

I was in Utah last week at a Stampin' Up! meeting, Founders Circle, for the top 100 Demonstrators in the company ~ US and Canada!  There was so much going on that it is hard to know where to start in giving you a well rounded picture of my experience and some great samples for you to copy!

I thought, today, I would follow-up yesterdays video with some pictures of CUTE FABRICS from Founders Circle.  You'll see that a lot of the shapes are cut using Stampin' Up!'s BIG SHOT and some of the fabric (like the outfit on the little bear below) is from the HOLIDAY MINI CATALOG.  Enjoy!
