Trees

Our dogwood tree Nov 2010 This is our dogwood tree the week before Thanksgiving.  I just loved the colors of the trees this Fall ~ beautiful!  Most of the leaves are gone now and, if we get a good rain storm, they will all be gone soon.

So, another 'tree' takes the limelight.  The one below is from Sharon Storm who loves to craft.  She came to my Stamp-A-Stack Class on Sunday afternoon and brought this tree to show me.  She made it using Stampin' Up!'s Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper, #120809, from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  She used a styrofoam form and pinned 1" strips of the paper to make the loops of the tree.  Thanks for sharing, Sharon!

Sharon's Tree Tomorrow I will announce the WINNER of my BLACK FRIDAY/CYBER MONDAY after Thanksgiving SALE ~ I have TWO holiday stamp sets for one lucky person!!!  See you then!  Susan Elise

Good Morning!

Good Morning!  We are back and we had a lovely trip to New Orleans!!  There were no problems ~ coming or going ~ in the airport so, contrary to what was on the news, everything was running very smoothly!!!  I think I promised some New Orleans pictures and I don't have any.  Sorry, Alan suggested I leave my camera home so it is all in my head (and so hard to download!!).  Next time ~ and, we will go back, New Orleans is a wonderful place to visit.

One of the things we did was to take a City Tour and our tour guide showed us the three places where the levees broke and the devastation in those areas.  It is all still a very sobering site and one not to be forgotten.  The people are still suffering (only 60% have even returned).  There are some good things happening but many have not recovered.  New Orleans depends on the tourist trade and we can make a difference by visiting and supporting them so put it on your list!  You won't be sorry!

So, back to Stampin' Up!.  This is from the website and I wanted you to know about it in case you would like to order some of this designer series paper.  Candy Cane DSP is the bright colored Christmas paper with the stripes and cute animal designs ~

Availability of Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper

November 25, 2010

Because of unusually high demand for our Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (available in the Holiday Mini, item 120809), there is a possibility that we will deplete our inventory within the next week, and we will be unable to order more.  As your business partner, we want to make you aware of this situation so you can work with your customers to place orders before supplies are gone. Please let your customers know that if Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper is not available, we have other beautiful holiday alternatives: Jolly Holiday (item 117159) and Deck the Halls (item 120810).

Fabric Ornament
If you love to craft and want to make an ornament for someone special, join me on December 11 @ 10!

Hi from AZ

On Wednesday afternoon I received an email that said 'Hi from AZ'.  I thought that's funny I don't think I know anyone in Arizona.  I don't, but I got the nicest email from someone who subscribes to my blog and was writing to me about the FABRIC ORNAMENT CLASS  that I have scheduled for December 11.  No, Betty didn't want to take the class but she did want to show me some ornaments that she had made ~ similar to the one we will be making in class.  Only, hers are even more fabulous!!!

Betty started out wanting to make a baby's 1st Christmas ornament for her granddaughter.  And, 22 ornaments later, she is still making ornaments!!!!  She just can't seem to stop.  Here is the one she made for her granddaughter and it is beautiful!  She wrote that she used the Hawaiian weave technique around the baby's picture (I don't know what that is but it makes a lovely frame, doesn't it?).  Her granddaughter will always treasure this handmade gift ~ with wonderful memories of her grandmother.

She sent me two other pictures of her ornaments ~ come back tomorrow to see them!  In the meantime, let me know if you are interested in learning how to make these ornaments ~ there is no sewing or gluing ~ it is all done with pins.  We will be using Stampin' Up!'s pretty new fabric.  You can check it out on page 16 in our Holiday Mini Catalog.  The class is Saturday morning, December 11, at 10 AM and is $25.00.  (Bring a friend to class and receive one of my REFERRAL CARDS and $5 off your next order!)  Join me ~ it will be lots of fun! And, Betty, thanks so much for sharing your lovely pictures with me!
