Open House Recipe Request

Dip and chips
I had a lot of requests for the TACO SALAD DIP from my Stamp Club Open House on Saturday so here it is.  It is one of Alan's favorites and one that you can make over and over!  A Central Fidelity friend, Bonnie Warren, gave it to me years ago.  Thanks Bonnie!

Layer:   2 cans bean dip (I used Fritos brand, 9 oz. can)

            1 onion, finely chopped

Mix together and layer:  1 pkg taco seasoning mix (I used Old El Paso, 1 oz. package), 1 cup mayonaise and 1 cup sour cream.

            1 small head lettuce, chopped

            1 large tomato, chopped

1 8 oz. package cheddar cheese, shredded

Serve with nachos/taco chips ~ I used UTZ white corn tortillas (0g trans fat ~ yea!).  It is best if you make it early in the day and let it sit in the refrig so that the flavors blend.  Enjoy!  Susan Elise

Mommy & Me 2

Gingerbread Boy Cookie
Gingerbread cookies and hot cocoa for all of those attending my MOMMY & ME EVENT on Sunday afternoon.  Here is Denise and her daughter, Cadence.  They attended last year too and Cadence told me that she has grown two inches since then!

Denise and Cadence 2

And, the youngest young lady at the event was Ella and she turned out to be quite a stamper ~ what a surprise.  I think it is because her Grandmother, Janie Dodge, stamps with her!  She really did a good job with those markers!

Ella and her cookie
And, below is Ella by our Christmas Tree (I was so pleased that we got it up and decorated.  When I grew up we always put our tree up on Christmas Eve so it always seems a bit early when it goes up in the middle of the month.  But, it is so nice to look at ~ and Princess Calico loves to sit underneath ~ I am really glad to have it up.)

Ella and her SU bag
The girls all got a STAMPIN' UP! bag to carry their goodies home with them.  This is Ella with her bag ~ I think she could probably fit inside, don't you????  Too cute!  More tomorrow ~ Using the Treat Cups!

Mommy and Me

Gracie and her tag Gracie and her Christmas Tag.  All the girls made a series of six or so Christmas tags for the packages they are wrapping at home.  The third project was a Big Shot project with the Fancy Favor Box and the Build-A-Bear die.

I added the Glass Glitter with my Crystal Effects ~ one of those basic items everyone needs on their crafting shelf!

A trip to Coinjock

Alan and I went to Coinjock this week to see my sister, Sarah, her husband, Terry, and their dogs, Maury and Emma.  Sarah's birthday was the day before our anniversary and we were in New Orleans so, of course, we had to find another time to celebrate.  They live on the inland waterway in North Carolina.  You may have heard me talk about their marina and their restaurant, CRABBIE'S ~ a great place to eat (the crabcakes are yummy!).  Except it's closed now until April when it warms up again.  If you are interested be sure and ask me for a business card for CRABBIE'S ~ there is a map on the back to make it easy to find!

Sarah's package Here is one of the packages that we took with us for Sarah's birthday celebration.  Isn't the ribbon gorgeous?  This is Stampin' Up!'s 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and it comes in ELEVEN colors.  It is so easy to use and ties so nicely!  Let me know if you want more information!  Here's a close up of the crab ~ of course, I HAD to put a crab on the package!!!

Sarah's package 2 And, here's Maury and Emma.  Emma is the newest addition to the family.  She is about nine months old and such a little dear ~ very inquisitive and friendly!  Maury is by the fire and Emma is in the chair!

By the fire... Emma 2
