It's super bowl week!!!

It's super bowl week and I am so excited.  I can't wait to put on my PACKERS hat and shirt (and wear it all week!!!).  Seriously, I will be sure to put it in the wash several times so ~ don't worry, those of you who have STAMP CLUB this week!  And, I am so excited about my projects for Stamp Club this week ~ we will be using the new Designer Series Paper, Springtime Vintage.  I just love those colors!!!

Card w texture technique
This is a card from the sample boards at Leadership that uses an interesting technique and a small windowpane! Unfortunately, I can't tell from the picture what the silver is on the frame ~ sorry about that, but I thought you might like the layout and the technique.

Stamp set:  SWEET SUMMER, (#123214)  SALE-A-BRATION catalog, page 8

Card stock:  Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Garden Green

Ink:  Basic Black and Garden Green classic ink, Garden Green and Pretty in Pink markers

Other:  Basic Pearls (#119247); Boho Blossoms EXtra-Large Punch (#119858); Little Leaves Sizzlit (#114511); Square Lattice Embossing Folder (#119976); Always Artichoke Seam Binding (#121000); Big Shot (#113439); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755)

EMBEDDED TECHNIQUE:  To make the flowered panel, cut Garden Green card stock 2 3/4" X 3 1/2".  Cut Whisper White card stock 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" and layer on to the Garden Green.  Punch out three flowers in Pretty in Pink and two leaves in Garden Green.  Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach to the Whisper White card stock and let dry several minutes.  Place the panel into the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.  Add pearls to the flowers and assemble your card.  This type of panel would be striking on a scrapbook page!  Enjoy!  Susan Elise

Windowpanes 2

Card w windowpane 2
Here is another of the wonderful cards using the new WINDOWPANES in Stampin' Up!'s OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.  This one is attached using Early Espresso 5/8" Satin Ribbon (#119753) and Neutral Jumbo Brads (#112533) in Very Vanilla.  The stamp set is Matchbox Messages (#113800) on page 131 in the Idea Book and Catalog.  Stampin' Up! has so many beautiful sets to use for vintage looking cards.

I am looking forward to my BIG SHOT CLASS this afternoon with Sandra, Connie, Sharon, Joyce and Beverly!!!  It is going to be so much fun with friends I haven't seen in a while!  We will be reviewing all of the different ways to use the BIG SHOT ~ all the dies and accessories.  The beautiful Elegant Lines Emobssing Folder (#119277), used above, will be one we will be using this afternoon.  Susan Elise

New Item ~ OMC

OMC?????  That would be OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.  Check out page 28 at the top to see the new item ~ BEVELED WINDOWPANES.  Beveled Windowpanes?????  OMGosh, what are they?  Look on page 29 to see the windowpanes used on a card and a box ~ an attractive addition to STAMPIN' UP!'S ACCESSORY LINE. They are acrylic frames with ribbon slide holes on both sides designed to highlight an image.

Here's more.  This picture is from Leadership.  Kelly, a fabulous Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, from the cold North (Wisconsin or Minnesota, I can't remember which) demonstrated the Windowpanes and did such a good job.  I'll be showing you more of her work tomorrow!  And, the windowpanes will be showing up in an upcoming class so stay tuned!

Card w windowpane 4
This gorgeous card uses the stamp set NATURE'S WALK (#121997) on page 27 in the OMC.  Don't you love the way Kelly created the collage look using her acrylic blocks?  And you thought they were just for adhering the rubber and stamping.  Isn't this a great idea?  Enjoy!  Susan Elise

NEWS FROM STAMPIN' UP! ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF SALE-A-BRATION...

January 26, 2011

Wow! What a fantastic day yesterday was. Because of your efforts, sales in North America were more than double what they were on the first day of Sale-A-Bration last year! We’re receiving reports of similar successes in all of our foreign markets as well.

To make the day even better, here at the Distribution Center, we shattered our old record of picks (number of items pulled from the shelves and placed in a box to be shipped) with over 137,000 picks in ten hours. The old record was 105,000 in thirteen hours, so we are happy to report that we are working hard to support your amazing Sale-A-Bration efforts!

I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HOW HARD STAMPIN' UP! WORKS TO GET YOUR ORDERS FILLED.  I BET THE STAFF AT THE DISTRIBUTION CENTER REALLY SLEPT GOOD THAT NIGHT!  LET ME KNOW IF I CAN PUT A SALE-A-BRATION CATALOG IN THE MAIL TO YOU ~ YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS ALL THE FUN!

Carrie's PJ's And, speaking of sleeping good, here is a cute picture from Leadership that I have been wanting to show you!!  This is Stampin' Up! staff person, Carrie Cudney, in her cute PJ's made by her Mom especially for her presentation on STAMPIN' UP!'S NEW FABRIC!!!  The PJ's are complete with lots of great pockets for stamp pads, stamps and accessories so they are STAMPIN' PJ's!!!  You can find the fabulous fabric, three designs of two different fabric assortments in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG ~ give me a call if you need one ~ 587-1548!

And, speaking of PJ's ~ my OPPORTUNITY BRUNCH is Saturday morning at ten.  You don't have to wear PJ's, unless you want to, but I would love to have you join me for breakfast.  We will have some informal time to talk about my job and how your life could benefit from all the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  You know I love my job!!!!  Join me!  Susan Elise

Scrapbook Page...

Shelli and Sterling album page
I love this scrapbook page.  I took the picture at Leadership; it was on the sample boards.  That's right it is Shelli Gardner and her husband, Sterling.  SHELLI, as I am sure you know, is the Cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up!  Such a happy picture, don't you think?

You can find the products used to make this page in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.  The Designer Series Paper, Botanical Gazette (#121783) and the coordinating stamp set, Nature Walk (#121997) are beautiful additions and I will be using them in an upcoming class making a BOTANICAL GAZETTE FOLDED ALBUM ~ more information to come.

Another product, new for Stampin' Up!, is the little Baja Breeze blue flower that you see on the left of the scrapbook page.  The little flowers come in three colors and are called ADORNMENTS (#121879).  These vintage flowers are perfect accents for any project and you can attach them easily with Mini Glue Dots (#103683).  A container of 24 flowers in Very Vanilla, Rose Red and Baja Breeze is $5.95.  You'll love using them on your scrapbook pages.  REMINDER ~ leave me a comment by tonight at midnight to be included in my Thursday drawing for scrapbook supplies ~ just let me know what you think about my upcoming SCRAPBOOK CLASS starting next month.  I'd love to hear from you!  Susan Elise

Simply Adorned

Simply Adorned M
On Friday evening at Leadership in Nashville we all sat down to a table full of friends and a package full of Stampin' Up! MAKE AND TAKES!  One of our fabulous M & T was the simply Adorned piece above ~ the Chain (#116800), the Charm (#116799), the Pearl Bauble (#121014) and the Trinket Crown (#121891).  We created the insert using the CLEARLY FOR YOU stamp set (#121976) which Stampin' Up! gave us for attending Leadership.  I hadn't thought about putting ribbon through the chain and I really like that idea.  SU supplies instruction sheets for all of our projects (It's like coming to class in the Cat/Art Studio) and, it's a good thing because by Friday night we were all too tired to think ~ at least I WAS!

Phyllis, Vickie & SEM at M & T

And, the other side of my Simply Adorned Charm looks like this.  I used the same stamp set, Clearly for You, and the ink colors are Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede.  We also used Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over the birds and to highlight the word 'friends' and some of the flourishes.  I wish you could see it in person, it is so pretty!

Simply Adorned Birds
Want to join in all the fun?  I am having an information morning, my OPPORTUNITY BRUNCH, this coming Saturday at 10 AM in the Cat/Art Studio and would love to have you join me to get started on your own Stampin' Up! business.  Now is a particularly good time as, when SALE-A-BRATION starts tomorrow there is a special offer.  You get 15% off your Stampin' Up! Starter Kit.  Plus, you get a bonus bundle filled with over $50 in FREE products.  Let me know if you would like to join me ~ give me a call ~ 587-1548!  Susan Elise

C is for Cat

C is for cat card This cute card is a swap card from Leadership that I thought you might enjoy.  Stampin' Up! does have a stamp set, C IS FOR CAT (#115764), but the green cat above was made with punches.  This card would be great to use as a craft project with your children or grandchildren!

I told you I would have an update today on Princess Calico.  So many of you have asked and Alan and I appreciate your concern.  She is not back to normal and I don't think she ever will be.  The blood clot that cut off the flow of blood to her legs was disolved when she was in the emergency room but not before the damage was done.  The doctor said that she my regain some of the use of her legs, and she has, and that it may take as long as several months to know how much mobility she will have.  She increased her mobility this week and seems to be feeling more like her old self.  When she makes up her mind she wants to go somewhere she drags herself to her goal.  She has partial use of her left back leg but no use of her right back leg so she moves as far as she can then sits down to 'catch her breath' (I guess) and starts again until she is where she has decided she wants to be.  She is a spunky little kitty.

Alan has looked into having someone make some wheels for her to use instead of her back legs.  There is a site on the internet that he found that will make them but the doctor recommended we give her some time so we will wait.  In the meantime we will just try to keep her comfortable, happy and as healthy as we can!  Susan Elise
