Opps, backwards...

I hope that I will be able to improve my videos with practice!  I know that the one I did yesterday, showing you the way to line your envelopes with designer series paper, was not the best.  For one thing I showed you my sample cards UPSIDE DOWN.  Sorry about that.  So, I thought I would share pictures of my samples today so that you can see what they look like, RIGHT SIDE UP!  These are the Stampin' Up! products that I used ~

I love the bright colors of the designer series paper and how easy it is to put these note cards together.  Let me know if I can help you with any of your stamping or scrapping projects!  I will be sending my newsletter out on March 1 and I hope you'll like all the new ideas for Spring!  Until tomorrow, Susan Elise

Southern Stars February Meeting

Billi's card ~ embedded

This is Billi's card which she used as her swap card and for a demonstration at our February SOUTHERN STARS MEETING.  She showed us how to do the technique called IMBEDDED.  She stamped the flourish (Baroque Motifs, #113490, set of 6, page 132)on to the Whisper White card stock.  She stamped the small flowers from the same stamp set, punched them out and glued them to the Whisper White.  She then ran the card through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder( #119976) creating the background texture that you see in the picture.  The card stock almost looks as if it is a woven fabric.  I know you can't tell that because my picture isn't wonderful ~ sorry!  Billi used the Curly Label Punch (#119851), layered it and mounted it on her card with Dimensionals.

Sab dsp
This is Sarah's swap card using the Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper from the SALE-A-BRATION brochure.  She used eight squares to create the pinwheel effect and added a brad in the center.

Marie's card This is Marie's card using the stamp set, BLISS, from the SALE-A-BRATION brochure.  She also used the new embossing folder which makes such a pretty framed edge on our cards.  The Textured Impressions Embossing folder, Framed Tulips (#121809), is on page 28 in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.  Marie embossed the black images on to the Whisper White card stock.  Pretty, don't you think?  Thanks, ladies, your cards are terrific!

Become a STAR!

DL Meeting ~ Monica
Monica is a brand NEW STAMPIN' UP! Wouldn't you like to join us for my next SOUTHERN STARS MEETING on Saturday morning, March 19, at 10 AM?  Or, I will be having a smaller event, the SU Business Opportunity, on Saturday afternoon, March 5, at 3 PM.  If you become a Demonstrator during Sale-A-Bration you get 15% off of your STARTER KIT.  Plus, you get a bonus bundle filled with over $50 in FREE Stampin' Up! products.  Now is a great time for you to get started on your own business and I would love to have you BECOME A STAR!

Build - A - Blossom Class

Blush Blossom Flower
My BUILD-A-BLOSSOM CLASS is this coming Sunday afternoon, February 27, and I would love to have you join us!  Class starts at 2 PM and will last until 4.  You will be making 5 projects including the card above.  I created that card almost exactly like the one on page 12 in STAMPIN' UP!'S OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.  The center of the flower is different because I didn't have the buttons that they used in the mini catalog.  My substitute is to use the Vintage Flower Adornments, #121879, on page 15 of the OMC.

If you would like to join me for class email or call, 587-1548, by Friday morning so that I can prepare your class package for you.  The class will be $20 and, if you have the Blossom Petals Punch please bring it with you.  Others in the class will have their own punch but it is too late for me to order one for you ~ you can use my punch!!  You'll love having this card to send on special occasions!  Can't you just imagine someone receiving it and knowing YOU made it!

Treat Cups at my SAB Open House

Sab treat containers
I am in love with this Designer Series Paper, ICE CREAM PARLOR, in Stampin' Up!'s SALE-A-BRATION brochure!  The colors are bright and pretty and there is so much paper (3 each of 3 double-sided designs) AND self adhesive die-cut sheets (2 each of 1 design) to use!  This paper is fabulous for scrapbooking, cards and  3-D projects.  Everyone who came to my SAB Open House last weekend got to use the paper in several different projects.  Here is one of them ~ little treat cups.

You can probably see these better ~ without the paper behind them.  They are so easy to make (you can make bunches) ~ and, they are my next video.  Stay tuned!  Hugs, Susan Elise

Easter Card w brayer 3

Third in a series...

M. Zindorf's Class 3     This is the third card in the series of three that I made in Michelle's class on Saturday morning, February 12.  And this is the stamp set we used, PLANT HOPE, on page 119 in Stampin' Up!'s Idea Book & Catalog.  It is so such an interesting technique to use only part of the stamp to create something this striking.  I bet we could all see ways to do this if we thought about it.

M. Zindorf's stamp set
My friend, and fellow Demonstrator, Audrey came over yesterday afternoon and we practiced the brayer techniques that Michelle taught us.  We made several cards.  I made one I like and will show you tomorrow.  And, I used the new windowpanes on the card ~ finally!  Can't wait to show you!

Thanks for the comments about my first video.  Any suggestions as to what you would like me to videoteach next?  Let me know!  Susan Elise

So sorry, I missed a day...

I know you are used to seeing a new post every day and that, yesterday, I let you down!  I am so sorry but I was busy making my very first video and I was so excited about that that I completely forgot that I hadn't posted to my blog.  OMGosh, it was so much fun and I even posted it to YOU TUBE!!!  The video shows how to create a beautiful square card that I taught at my FLOWER POWER CLASS last weekend.  And, I will be repeating the class next weekend ~ Sunday afternoon, 2 PM in the Cat/Art Studio.  I have room for you to join me!  Let me know if you are interested today or tomorrow so that I can order the BUILD-A-BLOSSOM PUNCH for you and have it in time for the class.

Here is the YOU TUBE LINK for you to check it out and please tell me what you think.  I would like to do more videos as I think that it is a great teaching tool but I want to do them right.  So let me know.

In the meantime, don't forget to join me tomorrow afternoon for my SALE-A-BRATION OPEN HOUSE ~ any time from one to four.  You should have received my reminder yesterday and it is easy just to click on the link to let me know you are coming!  If you aren't signed up for my newsletter and announcements, you can do it on my blog!

See you tomorrow with my third 'masterpiece' from Michelle's class last Saturday morning!  Audrey and I are going to practice this afternoon; I'll let you know what we create!  Susan Elise
