Tropical Isles

M. Zindorf's Class 2
Here is the second card that we did in the BRAYER WORKSHOP on Saturday morning, isn't it gorgeous????  I love Michelle's artistic perspective and her creative technique.  Notice the way that she taught us to use the palm tree stamp below?

M. Zindorf's stamp set
Stampin' Up's stamp set, Plant Hope, is on page 119 in the Idea Book & Catalog.  The way I created the palm tree on our card was to use just part of the stamp.  I used a marker to color in the fronds of the palm, eliminating the trunk.  Then I stamped the fronds twice and connected them to the 'island' by drawing the trunks in with the Basic Black Marker.

I have one more card to show you later this week.  In the meantime, I think this is a great way of thinking 'outside the box' when we are looking at our stamp sets or the images in the Idea Book & Catalog.  See what 'adjustments' you can make next time you are browsing through!  We can all be more creative ~ I just know it!  Susan Elise

PS:  Is my SALE-A-BRATION OPEN HOUSE on your calendar for Sunday afternoon?  Come on over!

Plant Hope

He who plants...

Stampin' Up!'s stamp set, PLANT HOPE (#117042), is the stamp set we used Saturday morning in our Beginner Brayer Workshop by Michelle Zindorf.  She drove down from West Alexandria, Ohio to teach two classes on Saturday and one on Sunday.  I am sure they were all well attended and that most everyone felt, as I did, that they were well worthwhile.  She is a wonderful teacher.  And, to me, it was so much fun to be in someone's class ~ and, not be the teacher for a change!  It was very relaxing.

The hostess for the class was Debbie Keane who has a wonderful home (that they built themselves twenty-two years ago) in Pungo.  Without my GPS I never ever would have arrived on time ~ if at all.  She is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and a lovely lady.  Thank you Debbie!

Here is the stamp set that we used to create three cards with Michelle's wonderful brayer technique ~

And, here is the first of the three cards that we created ~ isn't it beautiful?  I am so proud of myself!

More tomorrow!  And, don't forget to put my SALE-A-BRATION OPEN HOUSE on your calendar and stop by on Sunday afternoon for some fun!  Susan Elise

A visit from Ella

Ella's Valentine card
Saturday was a lovely day!  I took a class in the morning ~ Michelle Zindorf's Brayer Class (she is a fabulous lady and I loved the class ~ more tomorrow) and in the afternoon I had a visit from a friend of mine.  Ella often comes to class with her Mom, Eve Autrey, or her GrandMom, Janie Dodge, and she loves to stamp!  She is five and is a very focused five year old.  I am always amazed at what she accomplishes and what an advanced little stamper she is.  I attribute that to spending lots of time in her GrandMom's stamping studio!!!!  So my lovely Valentine above is for all of you, made by Ella, to share with my best friends ~ enjoy!

Your Valentine story...

Valentine Gloves w black background Isn't this a darling Valentine gift?  I got them from my very creative friend, and Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Diane Tritz.  Diane lives in Wisconsin and we became friends when we were SECRET SISTERS on cruise one year (she was a fabulous secret sis!!!).  She is a lovely lady and I was so glad to see her the first night of Leadership in Nashville last month.  She was standing in line waiting to get on the bus to the WILD HORSE SALOON.  When I saw her she gave me a big hug and my pretty gloves, above!  Thank you, Diane!

Do you have a VALENTINE STORY?  If so, leave me a comment with your story and I will pick my favorite on Monday.  The winner will recieve a $20 STAMPIN' UP! GIFT CERTIFICATE!  Yea!  I'll announce the winner on Tuesday morning.  Susan Elise

Bliss scrapbook page
Back to Leadership so that I can show you some more samples that were on the boards.  I don't know if you like samples as much as I do but I think it is a great way to get ideas!  Often, just looking at someone else's work gets my creative juices going!  And, even though Stampin' Up! Demonstrators 'Copy and Share Everything' ~ known as CASE ~ my creation usually turns out differently!  So enjoy the samples today using the BLISS STAMP SET from the SALE-A-BRATION CATALOG.  You can earn this set free with a $50 product order or by having your own $300 party ~ I'll do all the work and you and your friends can have all the fun!  Let's set it up today!

The person who created the SCRAPBOOK PAGE above used the floourish stamp in the set to create the background by stamping it repeatedly and creating the pattern you see.  What a great way to create your own designer series paper!  Here are some more samples for you.  Susan Elise
