A Mother's Day Wish List for you!

When you see the new Summer Mini Catalog, I know your wish list will be as long as mine!  There are just so many great new things to choose from, right?

Momswishlistpic

Well, I have the perfect solution.  Your Mother's Day Wish List!  Fill in your wish list, send it to me along with the names and email addresses (or phone numbers) of all the "special" people in your life and I will make sure they get your list.  Or, just fill in your Wish List and let your family give me a call!  Lots more fun than a toaster or a blouse!  Think of the possibilities!

Click here to download it as a PDF to print out and fill out.  If you would prefer a Word Document version, please email me and I will email it to you.

Mother's Day is right around the corner so, if you would prefer a Gift Certificate I would be happy to make a special one just for you!

All the news...

HAPPY WEDDING DAY!  By now a lot of the festivities are almost complete ~ I know you were up at 3 AM so you wouldn't miss a thing.  Sharon invited me to a 'wedding slumber party' but I said that I would arrive in the morning so I was off at six for a royal breakfast with friends!  Thanks, Sharon!!

I thought this card was appropriate for the occasion ~ you'll find this stamp set, Artistic Etchings, on page 125 in Stampin' Up!'s Idea Book & Catalog.  And, the wonderful 'newsy' designer series paper is called First Ecition and you can find it on page 25 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.  That mini catalog expires on Saturday so check it out ~ just in case....

If you want to feel like a queen, think about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  I have had lots of jobs but this one is the best.  I would love to tell you more about it!  Give me a call, 587-1548, and I will fix BRUNCH for you tomorrow so we can talk about it!  No obligation but I would love to tell you about the opportunity.  Susan Elise, your stamp teacher

Summer Mini in your mail box...

If you haven't received your Stampin' Up! Summer Mini yet, it will be in your mail box soon.  (If not, let me know and I will send you one!)

If you have received it, check out the stamp set on page 25 (in honor of the new Morton menagerie).   I will be calling you and if you can tell me the name of the stamp set you will receive a coupon for $10 off of your Summer Mini Catty order!

In the meantime ~ I have been wanting to show you this card that I made for a swap recently (and sent to my family as an Easter card).  Isn't he cute?  If you have any questions, just give me a call!

Look who came to stamp club last night....

Jupiter
JUPITER

Jupiter is a new member of the Stamp Club that met last night and Star is a new member of the Stamp Club that met this morning!

Star
STAR

These two lovely ladies joined the Morton Household yesterday around noon.  They arrived from the City of Norfolk's Animal Care Center.  We first saw Star on Saturday afternoon but we didn't bring her home.  I had made a RULE that we couldn't have any kitties until after we returned from cruise (which will be the end of next month!!!).  Alan couldn't stand our house wo a cat ~ much too quiet ~ so he was going to LOOK at the SPCA.  The Cat Room at the SPCA was undergoing AC work and we couldn't visit so we went to the next possiblity on our list ~ this shelter is on Sabre Road.  Star was in a little cat apartment under the name Stumpy!!!!  (I don't think so!)  She is part Munchkin (breed) so she has a short tail and short little legs.  We had some time together and I definitely wanted to bring her home BUT there was the RULE I had made up.  DARN!

Oh well, after Alan had his laugh at my expense ~ I was supposed to be along so that HE wouldn't bring any cats home (because of the RULE) ~ we went back on Tuesday morning for our cats.  After all, rules are made to be broken, right?  That's what Alan says!!!!  And, Alan definitely has a smile on his face!

Love all the springtime flowers?

DSCN0016
My hydrangeas are not in bloom yet but they are getting close.  This picture was taken last year and I just thought I would post it because it is so pretty and I am anxious to see these lovely flowers again.

In the meantime, consider taking my FLOWER CLASS on MAY DAY ~ Sunday afternoon, May 1, at 2 PM.

The class fee is $25 and it covers all of your supplies.  We will be making five different gorgeous flowers for you to use on your cards, gifts, home decor or as a fashion accessory.  Mother's Day is the following Sunday so you may want to gift MOM or a special friend with your creation.

Your flowers will look more like the one below ~ at least one of them will!  There will be four other creatuve little flowers for you to learn ~ join me!

Happy Easter!

Tiny Bunny
Don't you love this TINY BUNNY?  My team of stars, Southern Stars, met last Tuesday and the ever creative Marie brought this tiny box to our meeting.  I just had to take a picture and share it with you.

Lots of punches ~ I am sure you have most of them!  The one you may not have is the Petal Card Extra-Large Double, #119273, on page 202 in the Stampin' Up!' IB & C.  It is not extra large in my opinion so it may be misnamed!!!  One punch of card stock creates a darling little envelope ~ 1" x 1".  If you punch out two of the shapes and adhere them together you can make this cute little box.  I know you can figure out the little bunny!

Tiny Bunny 2 So, let's rename this punch ~ how about the Petal Card Extra-Little punch?  It makes more sense to me!

Have a wonderful time with family and friends ~ the weather is supposed to be fabulous here in Hampton Roads.  Enjoy!

Boxes...

I know you are thinking why in the world is she posting about BOXES???  Maybe she is trying to get rid of all of those empty Stampin' Up! boxes in her garage!  Not this time ~ although, if you ever need a box I may be the best person to call!!!

I have been asked a number of times about the wonderful little boxes that I use to 'gift' my cards.  These boxes are clear 4 1/2 x 1/2 x 5 7/8 that store flat.  When you assemble the box, Stampin' Up!'s medium size envelope and card fit nicely inside.  I fit four cards, with envelopes, in each of mine.

I ordered some years ago and just reordered.  They arrived this week.

Clearbags
I ordered enough to share with you.  If you are interested please let me know.  Each box is $.45 (no profit to me ~ this is just to help my Stampin' Up! customers!).  Here is what the gift box looks like....

Clearbags 2
I love using them.  It makes a very professional presentation to my hostess at my Stampin' Up! parties ~ opps!  another way for you to get one.  Give me a call.  Susan Elise, your stamp teacher

Traditions

May Day, celebrated on May 1, is rooted in the ancient Celtic festival that celebrated the arrival of Spring.  Growing up in Ohio, we made paper baskets, stuffed them with Spring flowers (mostly wildflowers) and hung them on the doorknobs of our neighbors' homes.  Then we rang the doorbell and ran so that our neighbors would be surprised to find the pretty basket.

When I was teaching first grade in Hampton, our school celebrated May Day with a May Pole in the front yard.  I taught my students to weave the pretty crepe paper by going under/over, under/over.

Flowers for May Day

This year I am having a FLOWER CLASS to celebrate MAY DAY.  May Day is definitely for flowers!  Join me to learn how to make five different flowers for you to use on your cards, gifts, home decor or as a fashion accessory.  Great for a Mother's Day surprise (Mother's Day is May 8 this year!).
