Christmas fabric ornament
Christmas Ornament made with Stampin' Up!'s Top Note Die (#113463) and Deck the Halls fabric (#121716).  This gorgeous vintage ornament was created by one of my favorite convention buddies, Akemi Geary, a Demonstrator in Chadds Ford, PA.  She is a lovely lady and I feel blessed to know her ~ another advantage of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator ~ so many wonderful friends that I would never have had the chance to meet unless I was a Demonstrator.  Join me ~ being a Demonstrator is a fabulous way to earn some extra money and to do what you love!

PS:  I tried the Brussels Sprouts recipe last night.  It is an excellent recipe and the sprouts were very good but it is still not my fav veggie!  Susan Elise and the cats in the Cat/Art  Studio!

Christmas packages

Are you in need of some wrapping ideas?  Need to get those Black Friday gifts wrapped up and into the closet?  Nothing is easier than using a roll of  plain brown wrapping paper from the $ Store.

Gift Wrap 3
This plain brown paper is given a festive touch with Stampin' Up!'s 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.  It comes in 11 colors!  This Basic Black (#115615) makes a great tie for a guy gift.  Add a little tag and you are ready to hide this one.

Gift Wrap 2
This easy wrap uses Stampin' Up!'s 5/8" Satin Ribbon in Real Red (#117286).  Or, use some of Stampin' Up!'s Christmas fabric as your ribbons to decorate your plain brown wrapped packages (see the top picture).  There are two different holiday fabrics ~ Deck the Halls (#121716) and Candy Cane Christmas (#121715).  More fabric ideas tomorrow ~ thanks for stopping by!  Susan Elise

Recipe for those of you who asked...

I still haven't tried this recipe ~ it is Eleise's recipe ~ from our RECIPE SWAP on Sunday afternoon but I wanted to post it because several people have asked (I guess they want to use it for Thanksgiving dinner!).  I haven't had time to try it but I will when Alan and I get back from our little trip to Maryland!  Here it is ~

Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Serves 8.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Two net bags of fresh Brussels Sprouts ( 1 1/2#)

Three tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

One tablespoon of Balsamic Vinegar, or to taste

One tablespoon of Butter, softened

Salt & pepper to taste

Wash, trim and halve the Brussels Sprouts, dry them in a salad spinner or with a kitchen towel.  Toss the sprouts with the olive oil, salt and pepper and place on a baking sheet in one layer.  Place them in the oven at 400 for 15 minutes, then turn the oven down to 325; cover the sprouts with tin foil and continue cooking for another 30 minutes.  Check them once in a while and stir.  Right before serving add the softened butter and the vinegar and mix well.

Eleise adds, 'This recipe is great for people who insist they don't like Brussels Sprouts!'

Marion, Sarah and Katie
I wanted to add this picture ~ it was such a pleasure to have these three ladies at the RECIPE SWAP on Sunday afternoon ~ Marion, Sarah and Katie (Mother and daughters).  Katie came all the way from Chicago and Sarah was looking fabulous after a very difficult year.  Love the picture!

I have always HATED BRUSSELS SPROUTS!  But, tomorrow, I am going to run to the Fresh Market and buy 2 bags of fresh Brussels Sprouts!  Do you believe it?  It is hard to believe.  So, here's the story ~

This afternoon is the Holiday Recipe Swap ~ much anticipated for the delicious recipes that will be swapped and the delicious food that will be eaten!  One of my friends who is participating, Eleise, is on her way to Germany.  Obviously, she will not be able to make it to the swap this afternoon.  But, she sent me her recipe so that I can swap it out for her.  You guessed it ~ Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts!!!!  And, it sounds really good ~ I can't wait to try it.  But, since she won't be able to bring her dish this afternoon, I don't feel like I can share her recipe with you UNTIL I try it ~ Monday at the earliest!  I have got to run ~ lots to do to get ready for this afternoon!  Thanks for stopping by and come back to hear more about this recipe ~ it may be a fantastic game changer for me ~ Brussels Sprouts on my plate!!!
