It is so exciting to go to the mailbox this time of year. And, besides the handmade cards I have been enjoying, this invitation arrived this week ~ so exciting! Stampin' Up!'s Leadership meeting is in January and this year it is in Orlando. The invitation is to the Managers' Reception at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort! The invitation says ~ Only here can you soar above Hogwarts grounds as you join Harry Potter and his friends on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Plus, you can explore Hogsmeade and visit some of the Wizarding World's best-known establishments. It's an entire evening of magic and excitement ~ and it's all yours!
Some of you know that things have gotten a little topsy turvey right outside the door of the Cat/Art Studio. Dominion Power has high voltage lines at the back of our property and they have access if needed. Well we found out several months ago that they were going to increase the voltage of the lines and had decided to use 'their' access. As a result, they are clearing 'their' part of everyone's property. Alan built our garden house years ago ~ with all the necessary permits ~ but it had to go. Today was the day of the actual move preceeded by days of work on his part. I thought you might like to see the progress made this morning ~ with the help of James, Alex, Josh AND Alex's big crane!
Garden house intact ~ Alan cut it down the middle.
Attaching the crane.
Separating the two parts of the house.
Reminds me of the Wizard of OZ
Separated and turning...
Moving toward the new foundation.
The crane sets the house on the new foundation
Beginning of reconstruction...
And, yes, they are out there working now to enclose the house. And, Alan tells me the windows will be lowered and the siding will go back on so ~ sometime in the future ~ we will have a pretty garden house again (somewhat taller!). What a morning! (Now, back to Christmas!)
I thought you might like to see a beautiful card using Stampin' Up!'s long time favorite stamp set, Lovely As a Tree. It has been in the catalog for years and years and it is definitely a classic. I have this picture stored in my picture files under Christmas and, unfortunately, don't know who created it so I can't give them credit, sorry. Enjoy! And, don't forget my great GIFT CERTIFICATE offer ~ I will add an additional $5 for every $25 gift you would like to give ~ put Stampin' Up! under the tree for your friends and family ~ or, yourself (right, Kim?). Thanks for stopping by ~ Susan Elise
Today is 'gift card holder' day in the Cat/Art Studio. I have been organizing my 2013 calendar classes for the last two weeks and now it is time to get busy wrapping packages, sending cards (they are all ready except for the labels) and making the gift card holders.
