How would you like to create the perfect gift bow for your holiday gift giving?  Stampin' Up! now has the die that can help you achieve just that!

The new Gift Bow Bigz L Die is simple to run through the Big Shot and create your bow.  Stampin' Up! has another great video tutorial available here to show us how!

If you need any of the supplies used in the video, visit my online stamping store.  Be sure to use the HOSTESS CODE ~ HD6GHF7A ~ to be entered into my HOSTESS BENEFITS DRAWING on September 30.  One person will have ALL the hostess benefits!

Margaret's Truffle Cards

Margaret's candy box cards
Margaret Spencer is at it again ~ another great idea!
From Margaret ~ "This is the Project Life filler card (3 X 4) that I made CASEd from one on your board - if you know the original artist, please thank her for me.
I used the waffle paper you gave me - as the candy box lining for the truffles. It is a bit hard to cut and trim, but I made it work. Interestingly, a piece of white card stick embossed with the argyle folder also resembles the top piece of candy box paper (as in a Whitman's Sampler)  ....
It was fun to work on and I  have a great idea all ready for Valentine's or anniversary.
Enjoy the rest of this BEAUTIFUL day, weekend and happy travels to Utah!!"

Fishin' Around

Fish card
Don't you love this card?  It was created by my friend, Phyllis, who is in San Diego as I write this.  She and her husband, Mickey, are enjoying the city compliments of Stampin' Up!  And, she so deserves this incentive trip for all of her hard work ~ actually, fun, as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!

So, let's talk about this darling fish bowl card.  The stamp set is Fishin' Around (#131118, wood only, $8.95 on page 58 in the catalog).  And, remember our Circle Treat Cups?  You can find them on page 160 in the catalog (#116802, 12 cups for $2.95), here's a close up ~

Update on Shelli #2

The Best Medicine Ever. . .

I'm back.

Kind of. . .

Every day I improve and the things that excite me seem pretty silly compared to what I got excited about only three weeks ago. Today I walked 108 feet in 30 minutes with only one break. Yay! And me being the stubborn, competitive girl that I am, I don’t need anyone prodding me to do better. . . I keep track.

My days are intense and exhausting, although every day is a bit better.  There’s a checklist of things I have to do before going home, and I’m working hard. . . today we passed off my car transport. Took more than an hour, but I got in and out of my car twice. One step closer. . .

The last few days I’ve had the best medicine of all—visits from our grandchildren! All but the twins have come, and they were on their way one day and we had to call and ask them not to come—it was just one of those bad days (which still happen but fewer and further apart).

They’ve all been so sweet and gentle with me. . . I can see the concern and love in their eyes. They’ve drawn pictures to brighten my room and made bracelets and headbands for me to wear. They’ve wheeled me around, and tonight we even went to dinner in the cafeteria (my appetite is finally coming back).

And, of course, the well wishes and prayers coming from you are almost as powerful! As Sterling mentioned, they are working! Too tired to share much more tonight, but am feeling so grateful . . . thank you!

Acorn Art

Welcome to the SUDSOL BLOG TOUR!  SUDSOL is such a fabulous resource for demonstrators ~ there are unlimited creative and business ideas and articles shared by its' many members.  You can join SUDSOL on a trial basis for 2 weeks absolutely FREE and I definitely recommend that you do!

One of my favorite things about Fall is all the acorns and the images of acorns.  I love to pick them up when I am out walking and bring them home ~ I have a nice collection.  So, of course, one of my favorite stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog is 'Truly Grateful' (#131730 wood or #131733 clear, page 19) because of the pretty acorn.  Another great acorn is cut using the Autumn Accents Bigz die (#127812, page 192, annual catty).

I also added that acorn to the Tag a Bag Gift Bags (#131370, 10 bags, #3.95, annual catalog) along with a bow using Sweater Weather DSP.

On this card I used the sunburst technique, don't you love it?  You can see more information on this technique in the SUDSOL library.  I am teaching the technique in my stamp clubs this month and shared my class outline with SUDSOL.

Best of Halloween

Halloween bags
For Stampin' Up!'s 25th anniversary, they are bringing back some favorite stamps monthly.  The Best of Halloween (#134381, set of 5, $14.95) is one of those stamp sets and the one I used to create the tags for my Mini Muslin Bags (#132180, 8 bags, $9.95).  The bags are very easy to work with as they are 100% cotton with a well made drawstring to close them with.

Halloween polka dot bag
I stenciled a different pattern on each of my bags.  Remember the SPOOKY BANNER class that I posted about yesterday?  I used the same stencil on the banner as I did on the Halloween treat bags.  The stencils are included in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit (#133507, 18 blank banners, jute twine, alphabet and image stencils, $19.95) and can be used over and over.

Halloween chevron bag
It is very easy to use the stencils on the bags.  To create a nice surface to work on, stick a piece of cardboard inside the bag and use a sponge dauber directly on your stamp pad to add the ink.  It goes on very easily and doesn't smear at all.  Can't you just see the smile on the face of the person you gift this to ~ I can!  Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you need any of the supplies to make some treat bags for your friends and family.
