Another stamp-a-stack card

SAS butterflies

This is another card that we made at my Stamp-a-Stack Class last weekend.  The technique that we used is 'Painter's Tape' to create the background.  A piece of painters tape is gently pushed against the surface of a stamp pad to pick up the ink.  Transfer the tape to your card stock and gently message the tape to create the background.

Love this card from yesterday's Stamp-a-Stack ~ lots of color and a great way to use the Hexacon Hive Thinlits Die!

Stamp-a-Stack is tomorrow morning!

My April Stamp-a-Stack is in the morning and we will all be busy stamping from 10 to Noon!  Each person makes 12 cards, there are 6 different designs and I thought I would show you one of them in advance (more coming soon).

Ella is turning eight!

Ella 1

From Ella's Aunt Janie:  "Look who is making her own birthday invitations.  We both are off for Spring break and her birthday party is 3 weeks away.  She will be eight on the 25th.

Ella is stamping the 'see you later alligator' and I am doing the cutting and snailing.

Inside the invite she is requesting food for the SPCA instead of gifts.  She is going with an all natural birthday party.  She chose the stamp set and green(s) and strawberry slush color scheme.  My horticulture professor said it is ok to mix and use all shades of green because that is what we see in nature.  I took him at his word so there are 4 shades of green on the front alone."

Tool tip....

It took me a while to discover how important this tool, Stampin' Up!'s Silicone Craft Sheet, was to my craft studio.  Since that discovery I have been recommending it to everyone as the tool they can't, or shouldn't, live without!  The problem is that no one can find it in the catalog.  Not surprising as it is hidden at the bottom of page 175, under what looks like some pretty flower petals in Blushing Bride.

Why would you want to spend $5.95 to have one of your very own?  Do you have a hot glue gun and does the glue get all over?  Does your adhesive stick to your work area, grid paper, when you are making cards or 30-D projects?  Does your next project get ruined because the grid paper still has glue on it from your last project?  This tool solves all of those problems, therefore saving YOU from a craft crisis!  I really recommend you not craft without it!!!  Have a super Tuesday!

Easy Peasy Bow! You'll love it!

Red bow 1         Red Bow 2

Yesterday in my Envelope Punch Board Class we discovered how to make the darling bow above.  It's easy and very fast!  This cute card is a pull up card.  The inside card is 4" x 5 1/8" and the bow is attached at the top using two Mini Glue Dots.  The outside folds around, cut your card stock at 4 3/4" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".  The edges of the card stock will meet in the center, add adhesive to the back of your ribbon and seal this seam.  And the bow?  The directions are for a silver bow we made in class but will be the same for the pretty red bow above.

Silver Bow

Cutting directions:

          1.  1” X 7 1/8” Silver Foil

Instructions:  1. Using the Envelope Punch Board, punch silver foil strip at 1 ½” and 3 ½”.  Flip over to the white side and, at the opposite end, punch at 1 ½”.  Repeat w the second side of the silver foil.

2.  Punch 1” ends of each strip to create ‘banner’ (tie ends of the bow).

3.  Using bone folder, gently pull the center sections to curve the bow.

4.  Fold in the shape of a bow and add a Mini Glue Dot on the fold creating finished bow.  Add large rhinestone in the center.
