Southern Stars Swap Cards 1.

Colleen's thinking of you card
Coleen's card

My team, Southern Stars, swap at every monthly meeting.  We swap whole cards so that they can be put in the mail and sent to a friend or team members might keep them to show to customers, friends and family.  I am posting three cards from our August meeting today and three more tomorrow.  Let me know what you think!

Stampin' Up!'s design team ~ Abby, this one's for you!

My moods always seem to affect my papercrafting. Most of the time, I create either for a purpose (with someone special in mind) or I create as a way to unwind, relax, and have some “me” time.

Usually I make very detailed cards that involve lots of embellishments, time-consuming techniques, or fussy cutting. And most of the time I make just one unique card or project. Every once in awhile, though, I find myself short on time and needing to make one (or several) cards in a snap! I love the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set for just that reason . . . it lets me create quick cards! Take this one, for instance:

I quickly stamped some random images from the Forever Florals Stamp Set, then colored them using the splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge. It saved me from having to color each image individually! I opted for a bright color palette: Strawberry Slush,Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, and Bermuda Bay paired with Basic Black andWhisper White (to make the colors pop)! Of course, you can always step it up if you want!

Ornamental Pine continued

It definitely seems as if it is way too early to be adding samples of Ornamental Pine (6 stamps, #135107 clear, #135104 wood) to my blog but I absolutely love this stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog.  I hope your catty arrived in your mailbox, if not, be sure and let me know and I will send one to you or you can pick it up this weekend.  Alan and I will be here all weekend ~ back from a little vacation to the cottage this week.

What else can I do with Bright & Beautiful?

I have heard this question a number of times this month (the Bright & Beautiful special ends on August 31!) so I thought that we should talk about it.  Everyone has liked the projects created with Bright & Beautiful but they have been Christmas cards.  So, what else can we do with it?

BrightandBeautiful2

I found this picture of ornaments created with the stamp set.  They would be simple to make with children or to pop into an envelope and send as a little gift.  I also think that using this set for birthday cards would work well.  Here are two PROJECT SHEETS  for you to download when you need a starry birthday card!

Vellum continued....

Choose happiness

We created this card using the Stained Glass technique with vellum.  The center panel is vellum placed over Whisper White card stock.  We stamped on one side of the vellum using the Memento ink pad and then colored on the opposite side using the Blendibilities markers.  The one thing that you have to remember when doing this technique is that ink, and the markers, take longer to dry on the vellum because they are not absorbed by the card stock.  The Designer Series Paper is from the All Abloom Stack ~ so pretty!

Vellum 1

Another card using vellum.  This time we made vellum bubbles for the cute Ollie Octopus.  Ollie is from the stamp set Sea Street and you can find him on page 48 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog.

Want to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and work with me?  There is a special for joining THIS WEEK ~ your STARTER KIT is $99 and you receive $150 worth of product ~ that's $25 more than usual.  Blendabilities anyone?????

Call me, email me, text me or stop by ~ we'll talk about it!!!
