Third Thursday Class ~ using vellum

Star framelits
We used vellum card stock in our class last night and I thought I would show you several of the cards that we created.  This one uses one of the bundles that Stampin' Up! has on special for the month of August.  The special is the Star framelits and the new stamp set, Bright and Beautiful ~ all at a 15% discount.  We embossed the star using silver embossing powder and layered it against DSP, All is Calm, from the Holiday Catalog.  What do you think?

Congratulations

This one is using the Gold Fancy Foil Vellum on page 193 in the Annual Catalog and the stamp set, Bravo, which you can find on page 133.  We added a little of the Gold Sequin Trim and Gold Baker's Twine for this fun card.  I'll post some more tomorrow from the class, have to go make dinner and get ready for the Packers against the Raiders.  GO PACK!

Stamp-n-storage

Marker & stamp pad case

This stamp pad and marker storage unit is new in the Cat/Art Studio and I thought you might like to see it.  I have been using Stampin' Up!'s Color Caddy (104335) for years successfully but this unit takes up less room and gives me more counter space ~ definitely an advantage.  I have more work space than previously.  The company is Stamp-a-Storage and it is in MN.  If you want more information just let me know.  Thanks for stopping by!  Susan Elise

Holiday Stamp-a-Stack coming soon!

IMG_0929

This has got to be one of the silliest stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s new Holiday Catalog!  'VISIONS OF SANTA' really makes me laugh!!!  I know it seems a bit early since school hasn't even started yet but you know it will come quickly!  So, let's do a little planning............

My Stamp-a-Stack Class begins on Saturday, September 27, and will run for three months.  The other dates are Oct. 18 and Nov. 8.  You will make 12 cards at each of the three classes, 2 each of 6 designs.  We will cover all of the fall festivities with a concentration in the Christmas holidays.  The class fee is $25.00 or$15 with an in-class order of $30 or more.  Email me if you are interested.

Yee-Haw!

Bootiful Occaions 1
Melissa stopped by on Sunday afternoon to pick up her stamp club order.  I told her I had made a card that reminded me of her (she has a great pair of boots!) so she came in to see the card.  And, she suggested a couple of changes in color with the addition of glitter (on the stars).

Bootiful Occasions 2

I used the new Blendability markers on these boots ~ lots of fun.  Then I mentioned to Melissa that I had used this stamp set because Stampin' Up! had just introduced a new stamp set ~ YEE-HAW!  And, it is perfect for all the cowboys and cowgirls out there ~ or, just someone with a pair of great boots!  You can see lots of samples using this fun set in my newsletter this week and future blog posts!

Third Thursday Class this week....

Vellum 1
Vellum octopus bubbles ~ Sea Street.

This class is a monthly class and I hope you will put it on your calendar ~ every month!  The theme of the class changes and the August theme is working with VELLUM.  You can find Vellum on page 193 in Stampin' Up!'s 2014-15 catalog.  There are two kinds, one is White Vellum card stock and the other is Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  We will be using both in class on Thursday night.  The class fee is $15 or the class is FREE with a $30 in-class order.  I do need to know if you are planning on attending so email me now so I can prepare your cards for you.  You will be making six cards ~ three designs ~ 2 of each.  And, BRING A FRIEND new to the studio and you and your friend choose five cards each from my CARD BASKET!  See you Thursday!

A little kindness goes a long way...

Kinda Eclectic 1
I am hoping that this post will motivate you to send a card today.  The card above is one of the projects from my August Stamp Clubs.  Last week, one of our favorite stamp club friends, Mary, couldn't attend due to illness.  We signed a card and put it in the mail to her.  Patty, her daughter, sent this email and I thought it was something that we should all remember ~

Hi Friends ~ The first thing Mama did when I arrived Saturday evening was bring the card to me that Susan made and four of you signed.  It really meant a lot to her and was a highlight in her day.  Thank you for doing that!  NEVER underestimate the power of a gesture of kindness and thoughtfulness.  Sometimes it only takes a simple act to change a day or a life.  Love, Patty

Coming soon............
