THANKS!

Unfortunately the stamp set being used in this video from Stampin' Up! is retired BUT this technique can be used with so many stamps.  I am sure you have one that would be just perfect on your shelf!  If not, there is one on page 16 in the Stampin' Up! catalog that would work just like this one does ~ One Big Meaning, 7 stamps, wood (138788) or clear (139420).  Try this technique today and let me know what you think!  Susan Elise

Pesto Sauce

Gift from the Garden 4
Another cute card from Stampin' Connection using the stamp set, Gift from the Garden, and my recipe for Pesto Sauce.

1 cup packed fresh basil leaves

1 heaping cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Place the basil, Parmesan, olive oil and lemon juice in a food processor and process until smooth.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Pesto sauce can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.  Makes about 1 1/2 cups pesto.  Enjoy!  Susan Elise

Gift from the Garden

You can find this cute stamp set on page 81 in Stampin' Up!'s catty.  I found this cute card on Stamper's Showcase which is just a part of a super resource for demonstrators on the SU website ~ Stampin' Connection.

Gift from the Garden 1

We just got back from the East Beach Farmer's Market so this seems like a most appropriate stamp set for this morning.  I got another big bunch of BASIL to make Pesto Sauce.  I made some last weekend and froze it to use in soups, etc. for when I need a taste of summer next winter.  It is so yummy ~ in fact, I'll share my recipe tomorrow ~ maybe you'd like to try it!  In the meantime, here are the 'ingredients' of this cute card.  Enjoy!  Susan Elise

Card Candy

Have you heard of Card Candy?  This afternoon I signed up for a Card Candy Swap at Stampin' Up!'s Convention ~ just days away!  I worry about having time for swaps but this one sounds like so much fun I couldn't resist!  Card Candies are little pieces of art that are fast to make, easy to create and very inexpensive.  The one I signed up for asked that everyone use the new in-colors.

The nice thing about Card Candy, little 2" x 2" pieces of stamped art, is they are fast and easy to add to a tag, a card, an album page, an invitation, a gift box or an envelope.  It is a great way to add a greeting to a card ~ your 'card candies' can have lots of different greetings and you can choose the one appropriate for the occasion.  Instead of stamping your card with a birthday or thank you just make a card candy greeting so you can pop on whatever greeting you want.

If you have a chance to create your own 'card candies' please consider sharing them with me ~ I'd love to share them on my blog!!!   Here's my Card Candy for the convention swap, what do you think?  Susan Elise

A little advice about stamping.....

ASU

Always stamp on a scrap first when using an alphabet stamp set!  I was so excited watching the Women's World Cup last night that I woke up in the middle of the night and knew that the first thing this morning I HAD to make a special celebration card.  However, I was not quite awake enough this morning to get my letters in the right order!  Scraps are good!
