It works!

Remarkable You 2
I tried using the Aqua Painter today with the new Archival stamp pads on page 19 in the HANDMADE for the HOLIDAYS Catty (going live on Tuesday!).  I used the lid of the stamp pads (Old Olive and Blushing Bride) as my palette to pick up my ink.  The card stock I used was Very Vanilla.  I think next time I will try the Watercolor Paper to see how that works.

Remarkable You

The Magnolia above (Garden Green & Crushed Curry) is from the stamp set REMARKABLE YOU in my favorite section of the Stampin' Up! catalog, Artistic Expression, on page 111.  The set is gorgeous!  When you get a chance to try this technique (with your own Archival stamp pad) send me a picture of your creation ~ I'd love to share it on my blog and I am sure others would love to see your watercolor work!  Thanks for stopping by, Susan Elise

Two new...........

INK

I've been 'stewing' about the Basic Black ink pad in the Stampin' Up! catalog for years now, right?  Well, there is a replacement that I just ordered and it has arrived in the Studio.  Look on page 19 in the Handmade for the Holidays catalog that you just received, on the bottom left you will find Archival Stampin' Pads in Permanent Basic Black and Basic Gray ink.  I have just started using the Basic Black and, so far ~

*It stamps well ~ with a clear sharp image.  I did notice that it stained my red rubber stamps but they cleaned up, the photopolymer stained.

*It is Archival which means that it can replace our Stazon stamp pads and we can use it with our Aqua Painters to watercolor.   I haven't tried using it this way but will and let you know tomorrow what the results are.

*The Basic Gray is a medium gray ink and really pretty.  I will add more information as I use it more ~ hope that works for you ~ check back!

Mary Poteet: stamp club project ~ all by herself! Yea!

I love hearing from my friends who have been in a class with me or, in this case, in a Stamp Club.  Mary Poteet was in my Wednesday night stamp club this week and sent me this picture last night.  I am so proud of her for repeating our 3-D Project ~ a cute container gift basket and four note cards with envelopes.  From Mary last night:  I can't believe it did this on my own! Yay me! Thanks SE

I have added a PDF for you at the bottom of this post.  Just click on the link and print out the directions so that you can make your own gift to give a friend or use yourself.  Happy Weekend!  Susan Elise

Stamp Club last night...........

.....was so COLORFUL and so much FUN!  Do you think they might have coordinated their outfits to attend the class?  Amazing ladies ~ Pam, Barbara and Ann!

And, Marti and Mary were on the other side of the island stamping their little hearts away.

I love this card and love this use of Stampin' Up!'s Sweetheart Punch ~ STRAWBERRIES ~ what creative person thought of that!  Love it!  Give me a call, or order online, if any of the Weekly Special products are on your WISH LIST and you want to save some $$$$!  (And, if you want to make this cute card ~ it is on my list for my THIRD THURSDAY CLASS this week!  Join us!)

Weekly Deals August 27

Third Thursday Class rescheduled

My August Third Thursday Class was cancelled last week and has been rescheduled to this coming Thursday, August 27.  If you can join us for the class plan on arriving anytime between 4 PM and 6 PM.  In this class we always make three different cards ~ two of each.  The class is in the Cat/Art Studio and is $15 for all of your supplies (or, if you place an order of $25 during the class your projects are free!).  Let me know by Tuesday afternoon if you will be able to come to class ~ that way I will have everything ready for you!  This is a great class for new stampers so, if you have a friend whom you would like to introduce to our fun craft ~ great time to bring her or him (and choose free handmade greeting cards from my basket as a thank you).  This is one of our projects for Thursday!

Third Thursday Class August 27

This is a PUNCH CLASS ~ can you tell?  Thanks for stopping by!  Susan Elise

August PP in the studio....

August flowers
This looks like a big mess but it is the August Paper Pumpkin projects under construction last night.  The PP box contained enough supplies to make six cards and three gift boxes.  I put one of the boxes together but saved the other two.  The first one is completed but empty so I thought I would wait until I had little surprises to add to the other gift boxes.  Here is the finished box ~

August box w flower

It was very easy to make.  The flowers were all cut and ready to assemble with just a little curling with the Bone Folder.  I stamped the tag and the ribbon was included.  Don't forget that you can save 50% off your first two months if you are a new subscriber.  Use the promotion code:  HALFOFF now through September 10!  Sign up at PaperPumpkin.com. It is so nice to have everything in one place to do your quick crafting project ~ you'll love it!
