You are Tea-riffic!

Cuppa

Melon Mambo and Wisteria Wonder are so pretty together ~ and, this is one of those color combinations that could be used over and over ~ if we could just remember what a fun combination it is!  Note to self.  This stamp set, A Nice Cuppa, is in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog and will not be returning.  It was bundled with a set of Framelits Dies but they are no longer available ~ sold out.  However, the set itself is a super one if you enjoy a cup of tea or are planning a TEA PARTY with friends or for MOTHER'S DAY.      In addition, the designer series paper stack, Have a Cuppa, is retiring and it is a really fun pack of paper.  You can find all of this on page 35.  Enjoy!

Going Global is going to be retiring soon...

Sometimes the hardest stamp sets to let go of are the ones that we have known the shortest amount of time.  Take for instance, GOING GLOBAL, which you can find on page 39 in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog.  It contains 9 stamps and you can order it either with wood blocks or to use on our clear blocks.  The page in the catty also gave us Going Places Designer Series Paper (140581) and the World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (138289) ~ also on the RETIRING LIST.  This is a unique approach to crafting products and ones that are easily used for guys and friends who love to travel!  The embossing folder is used effectively with the SILVER FOIL SHEETS (138392) in this card.  Print out the directions below the card and enjoy.  Be sure the share with me your creations using these products ~ I would love for you to be my GUEST ARTIST!  Thanks for stopping by, Susan Elise

Let's Party

Cupcake Party

Another retiring stamp set!  I am sure you have guessed by now that I have decided that this is RETIRING STAMP SET WEEK!  The stamp set is CUPCAKE PARTY on page 6 in the ANNUAL catalog   You would also be using the BIRTHDAY BOUQUET DSP (a very popular designer series paper from the Occasions Catty) and the Cupcake Builder Punch.  It is a quick and easy card and could be used easily on a scrapbook page or as an invitation.  The directions provide all the supplies, the measurements and brief instructions ~ enjoy!

Talented Trio

Talented Trio Artist

This darling card is made using the stamp set, TALENTED TRIO, which you can find on page 48 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog.  The stamp set is retiring soon ~ May 31 to be exact.  In the meantime, the set features a ballerina, an artist and a skater ~ so cute for anyone with a cute young lady in the home or a grandmother with a cute granddaughter who would love to receive some mail.  (Which reminds me ~ for those of you who follow my blog you know that I have been asking for you to put a card in the mail to Kyndall.  I got an update today from Meghan, Kyndall's Mom, and Kyndall is back in Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters ~ I know she would love a card.  You can find her address on my blog post on April 18.  Thank you so much!)

Here are the directions for the card using this retiring stamp set (it is two pages so be sure you print on back/front) ~

Mother's Day

Sparkle and Shine Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day is just around the corner and this card might be just what you are looking for to tell her what a 'gem' she is.  Change the sentiment and you have a wonderful 'friend' card.  This stamp set, SPARKLE & SHINE, is on page 31 in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog.  The Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper is on the same page.  It is printed on kraft paper with silver foil designs on one side.  Additional colors include Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, Silver and Watermelon Wonder.  The shiny stones on the card are the Iced Rhinestone Embellishments also on page 31. The stamp set and the DSP will both retire at the end of May.  Here are the directions for you to print off if you are interested.  Enjoy!

Everything Eleanor ~ retiring soon

Everything Eleanor (page 30 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog) is a stamp set that has been in the catalog for a number of years and it is a well used set.  Many elegant cards have been created with this set.  It is retiring soon so I thought that I would give you directions to one more card, this time a SYMPATHY CARD.

April 2016 With Sympathy

This card is made using Whisper White Thick card stock but you could also use Whisper White card stock.  The Thick card stock (page 149 in the catalog) is 100-lb. weight vs. the usual 80-lb weight (page 141).  Having googled 'paper weight' I can tell you that it is a very confusing subject, suffice it to say that the Whisper White Thick card stock has more body and will maintain it's shape and crispness longer (if that is important to you).  What I am trying to say is that using either will be just fine for this card.

Download With Sympathy PDF

The sentiment 'with Sympathy' is from the stamp set, Rose Wonder, and you can find it on page 18 in the Occasions Catalog.  This is a simple card using two pieces of Whisper White.  You will layer the stamped piece onto the card base using Dimensionals.  You can easily create this card in a variety of colors with a similar sponged effect.  If you do, email me your cards so I can share them on my blog ~ I know others would love to see what you create.  Thanks for stopping by, Susan Elise

Nancy Topping Bazin

Why I Love to Paint Birds

No, she is not a Guest Artist but she is an artist and an interesting one.  Her artwork is presently displayed at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Baker Hall/Welcome Center.  She taught literature and women's studies for thirty years at Old Dominion Univrsity before switching to art.  Her birds are colorful and whimsical so I wanted to share with you ~ they are fun to see.  The little book, above, provides some insight to the birds and her art.  If you are going to "LanternAsia" be sure and stop by and see her fun artwork!!!  Happy Friday!

Kards for Kyndall

I know many of you have put cards in the mail after reading my CARD REQUEST POST earlier in the week and I want to THANK YOU (as I know Kyndall and Meagan would do).  Janie Dodge shared a special card that she created today and I thought you would like to see the results.  It is a three sided card.  I have never made one and it looks complicated.  Maybe we could have a class and Janie could be the teacher/demonstrator!  Thanks for sharing, Janie!
