STARS meeting tomorrow...........Paper Cranes

Tomorrow afternoon, September 10, is my monthly meeting with my team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, SOUTHERN STARS.  It is going to be a really fun meeting for all 15 of us!  We are going to start the meeting making paper cranes for an upcoming wedding.  Sarah Swaim wants to have 1,000 cranes at her wedding in October at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens so we are going to help.  I have asked everyone to bring their BONE FOLDER to make it a little easier to do all the folding we will need to do.  We are using retired DESIGNER SERIES PAPER (you know that I have plenty and a wide variety!).  Marion Swaim, Sarah's Mom, sent me a picture of a crane that she made as a sample to show you.  I'll let you know how everything turns out!

Owl Punch & Halloween

The OWL BUILDER PUNCH on page 188 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog is so versatile and I knew you would want to use it for your HALLOWEEN CARDS.  I looked through my Halloween file this morning to see if I had a sample for you so the card below uses some of our retired product but I am sure that you have some products at home that you can use.  Enjoy!

Guest Artist ~ Bea Conaway

Bea's card for sister-in-law

You may have read about BEA CONAWAY in the September newsletter that I sent out on Saturday (I hope you didn't have any damage ~ the wind was horrible, wasn't it?).  Bea was the stamper who placed an order online and used the HOSTESS CODE that I was explaining a little further.  Check the newsletter for more information ~ September's code is DHZA2MAB.  Also, if you didn't get my newsletter EMAIL ME so that I can add you to my list to receive lots of stamping information twice a month.

Bea lives in Hampton and I haven't seen her in a really long time but it turns out she has been doing a lot of stamping.  She sent me pictures of her recent cards and I asked if I could post her cards.  She agreed to be my GUEST ARTIST.  Her card above was made for her sister-in-law who is dealing with breast cancer, a 'thinking of you' kind of card.  Here are some other cards created by Bea.

Penned & Painted ~ again

Penned & Painted w envelope

In August I posted using this stamp set, Penned & Painted, to create my ONE SHEET WONDER TECHNIQUE.  I am in love with this stamp set (and, if you are coming to STAMP CLUB in SEPTEMBER you will too!).  This card uses the NEW LAYERING SQUARES FRAMELITS (on page 193 in the annual catalog) to create an interesting focal point on the front of the card.

I also used the NEW FOAM ADHESIVE STRIPS to raise the center square.  The strips are great for shaker and spinner cards but they also work well with the new framelits!  The products I used are below and you can click on any of the images to go to my Stampin' Up! online store.  The SEPTEMBER HOSTESS CODE is DHZA2MAB ~ be sure and add it to your order to be part of the STUDIO DRAWING at the end of the month.  And, let me know if you would like directions for this card ~ I would be happy to send them to YOU!

From Halloween to Christmas ~ such a short time!

Windy wet weather, such a good day to stay in and stamp, to get a start on those Christmas cards!  I just read a FB post from RUSTY BEDARD who is doing just that.  She got me thinking that you might like a little inspiration this morning so I decided to post a CHRISTMAS CARD and the PROJECT SHEET for you to use.  Of course, you can substitute any set to create something similar.

More Halloween......

Yesterday, during STAMP CLUB, my doorbell rang ~ special delivery from the post office ~ a package of swaps.  I recently participated in two swaps.  This is how it works.  A demonstrator posts on one of our demo sites that she is hosting a HOLIDAY CATALOG SWAP.  Demonstrators sign up to join the swap.  The host then gives us a DUE DATE and tells us how many cards to make.

Vampires, witches, ghosts oh my!

In this swap the number was 15 + 1.  The one is for the host.  Each of the demonstrators who are part of the swap creates a card using the new products in the HOLIDAY CATALOG.

Vampires, sitches w doily

I passed all my swap cards around at stamp club yesterday morning so everyone could admire the creativity of demonstrators from across the country.

These cards used products starting on page 50 in the catalog in the HALLOWEEN NIGHT Suite ~ lots of spooky choices!  I hope you enjoy these ideas for your Halloween cards.  If you would like to make some of your own  the theme of my CRAFTY THURSDAY CLASS this coming week is HALLOWEEN ~ come and make your own.  EMAIL ME TO JOIN US.

Home Sweet Home

At STAMP CLUB this morning my friend and stamp club member, JOY, was so interested in the HALLOWEEN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER ( page 51) and the SWEET HOME BUNDLE (page 40) in the HOLIDAY CATALOG.  She has decided to make her grandson (and friends) little Halloween Houses using the bundle products.  Such a cute idea and she is going to be busy ~ she and her grandson, working together, are going to make TWENTY HALLOWEEN HOUSES!!!!  I hope she'll send me a picture so I can add it to the blog for you to see!

The CATALOG is live TODAY and I have so many more videos to share with you so be sure to stop by for more ideas!

In the meantime, here are some of the products that JOY will be using to make her houses ~
