DEbossing?

Shoebox swap card debossing

The 'celebrate' on this card is debossed, the opposite of embossed.  The process uses the BIG SHOT and you run the paper through using a folder.  However, instead of pushing the paper up, this folder pushes the paper down to create a word that is indented in the paper.  When you add color the debossed word, 'celebrate' jumps out of the color surrounding it.  It is an easy technique with the folder ~ join me in the STUDIO to give it a try!

There are two of these folders in Stampin' Up!'s catalog.  Look on page 40  at the top right hand box.  The other folder is for the word HAPPY.  I haven't used that one yet, the card above was for a team SHOE BOX SWAP this afternoon.  The products I used on this card are below ~

My Paper Pumpkin ~ January

My Paper Pumpkin box arrived in my mail box this week and it is all about Valentine Treats.  Here is a video that will provide you with more information from Stampin' Up!  And, after the video I want to share some hints that I found from a demonstrator that had finished making all of her treats ~ her suggestions should make it easier for all of us.

1.Make this a project you make assembly line style.  Do all of one thing, then move on.  2.  Stamp the hearts before you punch them out.  3. Think about using one sentiment on all the bags.  4.  Adhere the banners to the bags before assembling the bags, it is easier flat.  5.  Pinch the gussets after the bag is made.  6.  Be careful how you put the hearts on the dowel,  I hope this will help you assemble your treats!  Happy Valentine's Day!

    Sealed with Love

    12 x 12 piece for framing

I started this a week ago and finished it this morning so it has been sitting on my work table for a week!  It was getting in my way but I could only work on it sporadically because of my classes and my open house events going on.  It is 12 x 12 and uses all the products in the SENDING LOVE SUITE on page 14 and 15 in the Occasions Catalog.  It was loads of fun to create because there ar so many stamps (27) and so many dies (14) in the SEALED WITH LOVE BUNDLE!  I also used the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and the Sending Love Embellishments.  If you are interested in purchasing any of these products for Valentine's Day projects I will be placing an order tomorrow and will be sending it 2 DAY EXPRESS so that it arrives in a timely manner for Valentine projects.  EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

Inside the Lines Specialty Designer Series Paper

I would really like to share one of my new favorite products from the Sale-a-Bration catalog with you.  The Inside the Lines Specialty Designer Series Paper can be used a few different ways.  You don't just have to color it all in.  Stampin' Up! has created a video to show you some great ways to use it.

Don't you just love all the new products?  Make sure to get the ones you want and earn those FREE products from the Sale-a-Bration catalog before March 31st.

Contact me for more information on any of our Sale-a-Bration and Occasions catalog products.

    Hey, Chick

The funniest stamp set in the Sale-a-bration brochure this year is the 'Hey, Chick' stamp set on page 17.  It includes three chickens that are real characters and a little 'good egg'.  We are using the set to make a bookmark in the Cat/Art Studio ~

    Book mark

and, yesterday, I framed those three silly chickens!

    My Occasions Catty Open House............

............has been keeping me busy.  Sorry not to have posts for you!  Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon are set aside to introduce my stamping friends to new products in the Occasions catty and the Sale-a-bration brochure by setting up my craft tables and my new supplies.  I set up six projects so everyone would have a good variety of products to USE rather than just look at the pictures in the catalog.  I feel like I need to do this once a month with all the products in the catalog and, actually, I might try that!  I love having everyone USE the new so they can make a good decision about adding it to their own supplies................or, not.  Stampin' Up! has some good products but, of course, so do a lot of other craft companies.  The difference, it has seemed to me for all these years, is that with Stampin' Up! YOU have someone to teach, to guide, to mentor and to appreciate all that you put into your craft hobby.  I hope it is worth it to YOU.  Pictures tomorrow.  Hugs, Susan Elise
