Guest Artist ~ Janie Dodge

Janie sent me an email yesterday and attached this pretty card.  Her daughter, Eve, has recently had surgery and spent several months recovering.  She is back at work and asked Janie to make Thank You Cards for her co-workers.  This is the card (notecards ~ Janie's fav) that Eve was able to send to her friends at work.  And, Jane's email, below, explaining what she used to make the card.  Thanks for sharing, Janie!

Janie's cards for Eve

Eve requested thank you notes for co-workers at the hospital. She is half-time and is exhausted when she gets home. I am proud of her  giving it 110%.

I used the greeting from the "Wetlands" set, the 2 1/2" punch, Lace Dollies, shimmery white CS for front, embossing powder in pewter (wish this was still available), dimentionals, shimmer paper sprayed blue, diamond accents inked blue, and of course the "can't live without them" SU notecards and envelopes.  I really like the newer note cards because the card stock is thicker/sturdier.

Customer Q & A

Last week in STAMP CLUB Patty asked me about the EMBOSSING FOLDERS on page 211 in Stampin' Up!'s new catalog, CREATIVITY YOUR WAY.  She was particularly interested in the 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (quite a title, don't you think ~ so glad my name isn't that long!) on page 211.  Because they are so thick and sturdy you cannot use them the same as our traditional embossing folders (page 210 and the top of 211).  The key to success is on the left side under the diagram of the 'sandwich' ~ a reminder we can refer to over and over.  In the meantime here is a Stampin' Up! video that provides lots of information...........

just breathe.....

On May 22 I posted another card that I made using this same watercolor technique ~ a little ink and lots of water!  In that card I used a beautiful retiring stamp set.  Today the background is the same watercolor technique but with a new stamp set in Stampin' Up!'s new catalog, CREATIVITY YOUR WAY.  The bundle on page 147 includes the stamp set, Colorful Seasons, and a set of dies, Seasonal Layers (the beach chair is included).  We will be using this technique in my WATERCOLOR 102 CLASS next Saturday afternoon ~ join me!

If you are new to our WATERCOLOR PENCILS (page 201 in the catalog) I am having a basic class, Watercolor 101, on Saturday morning at 10 in the Studio.  EMAIL ME if you are interested.  The 102 CLASS is the same afternoon ~ at 2 PM.

New Designer Series Paper

We'll be using the new IN COLOR DESIGNER SERIES PAPER this weekend at my NEW CATALOG OPEN HOUSE.  I thought you might want to see the Stampin' Up! Video with ALL THE NEW Papers.  The one we will be using, FRESH FLORALS, is at the end of the video.  Hope to see you in the Cat/Art Studio!

One of the most colorful BUNDLES in the new catalog is the OH SO ECLECTIC BUNDLE.  You can see samples using the Designer Series Paper, the stamp set and the Thinlit Dies above.  And, here is Shannon to tell you a little more about these new products ~

I hope you'll join me  this weekend to see, and use, some of the new products ~ let me know if you have a little time on either SATURDAY (10 AM to 2 PM) or SUNDAY (1 PM to 4 PM) to play!  I certainly don't have EVERYTHING (I did place an order Thursday afternoon) but I would love to show you what I DO HAVE. EMAIL ME IF YOU CAN JOIN ME!

Happy New Catalog Day!

Today is the day that the fabulous 2017 - 2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog  ~ CREATIVITY YOUR WAY ~ goes live.  It will go live at 11:50 MT so it will be about 2 PM here.  I am sure you have gone through the pages of your catalog several times to see all the new products.  What did you like best?  One of the products that I am in love with is on page 12 and 13 ~ the LOVE TODAY PLANNER KIT.  It's not that I don't have a planner (actually I have two) but that I just love lots of the little details that Stampin' Up! has added to their planner.  It is at the top of my list!

Don't you just love all of the great ways we can plan our events and keep track of them ~ it's almost a journal.  And, what a lovely gift!  Remember to place your order as soon as possible ~ I will ~ I certainly don't want them to put this product on backorder!  And, remember that this month Stampin' Up! is adding $35 in host dollars on any personal or party order of $350 or more.  That will be at least $77 additional dollars you can enjoy spending in the new catty!  Let me know if you want me to place your order or go directly to my Stampin' Up! website HERE!
