Color Theory Class

My COLOR THEORY CLASS was on Tuesday evening this week.  The weather that was predicted, and arrived, wasn't good so I worried all day that no one would arrive at 6:30 for class.  And, then ~ AMAZING, everyone who had signed up for the class ARRIVED!  So, I want to thank Julie, Dixie, Rusty, Barbara, Beth, Nancy, Jan, Sandra, Abby and Susan for coming out on a rainy windy night!  I also sent the class to Laurie who lives in Maryland ~ so glad she didn't drive down last night for class.  We made 2 each of 4 cards ~ all involving dies and the Big Shot so it was a very busy night (there were 4 Big Shots in the Studio ~ that's a first!  Thanks to Susan and Adrienne for lending Big Shots for the class!)

You can find the COLORFUL SEASONS BUNDLE on page 147 in the annual catalog.  Here are the cards we made ~ Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring.

Third Card for my Christmas Class

The third card for the CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST class uses a wonderful new stamp set, GOOD TIDINGS, from Stampin' Up!'s HOLIDAY CATALOG.  (Yours hasn't arrived in the mail yet?  Give me a call!).  You can find it on page 8 in the catalog.  Here is the card we made ~

And, here is an alternate with the smaller greeting on the inside of the card.

The set is a tiny bit confusing as it is a two-step stamping set so tomorrow I will show you Step 1 through 4 so that you will feel comfortable creating this beautiful holly.

Second Christmas Card

The second card in my CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST class also used the CAROLS OF CHRISTMAS bundle ~ this time we used the dies that coordinate with the stamp set.  It was time consuming but everyone seemed to enjoy having this card in their collection.  In addition to the dies cutting out the trees we used the stamp set, STAR OF LIGHT, to add sparkle (gold embossing powder) to the trees ~ hard to tell in the picture, sorry about that!

Christmas in August Class

My Christmas in August Class was yesterday morning ~ Saturday, August 26,  It was a busy class ~ everyone was busy making six Christmas cards and looking at the new Holiday Catalog.  This series of classes started in July and will meet in September and October.  The goal is to get a head start on those lovely cards and not panic when November rolls around.  I will post all three cards for you, here's the first one.

Be Merry Kit

Now that you have your HOLIDAY CATALOG I can direct you to look at certain pages ~ lovely!  On page 32 there is a kit named the BE MERRY KIT.  This was one of the kits that my team put together last weekend.  I know that some of you liked to make lollies several years ago but, as my friend Rosie pointed out this morning ~ just too much scoring and folding!  The good news is that in this kit the rosettes (lollies) are cut, scored AND folded!.  My pictures don't really do them justice ~ they sparkle much more in person.  The kit makes 12 lollies and everything is included ~ you bring your heat gun!  I can't wait to show them to you so stop by!

It's a Treat!

I loved having my team members over last weekend.  I made them a little treat bag since we were concentrating on holiday projects from the Holiday Catalog (some of you have emailed that is has ~ finally ~ arrived in your mailbox ~ enjoy!).  I added a packet of Faceted Gems (page 197) inside!

The stamp set is MERRY MISTLETOE in the BE MERRY SUITE on page 112 & 113 in the annual catalog.  i stamped the reindeer in Early Espresso and cut him out (no die ~ sorry), wrapped one of the cute little Boxwood Wreaths around his neck and added him to the ribbon with a little hot glue.  I had to cut the wreath so that there was an opening and I could get it over the reindeer's head.  The ribbon is from the last catalog but I am sure you have some you can use.  I like the way they turned out and think that they would be super as favors on a holiday table ~ what do you think?

HALF OFF ~ IF YOU ARE A NEW SUBSCRIBER........

I introduced this months Paper Pumpkin Kit to my team members last Saturday afternoon ~ along with two project kits from the Holiday Catalog (did yours arrive today?) which I will show you this week.  In the meantime, this video will give you a good idea of the fun you can have with the box of Paper Pumpkin this month!

Great card from France Poitras Martin......

I saw this card yesterday and loved the idea.  France is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator with many talents!  I didn't have time to make one so I asked France if I could put her card on my blog and she immediately said yes.  Enjoy the card and enjoy today's historic event!

And, yes, Lovely As a Tree is still in the catalog and you can still order it ~ after all these years!  Turn to page 137 to see other ideas using this 'historic' set!
