My sister, Judy, in Richmond sent me a link yesterday to a true story about the cat, above, 'meow' who traveled from China to the USA. I thought I would share this sweet story with you. Enjoy! Happy Saturday!

Colorful Seasons Class
Tuesday, August 29, 6:30 - 8:30
CLASS FEE: $25, includes one 6 x 6 Color Theory Paper Stack ~ make 8 cards.
Cat/Art Studio, 2758 Murray Avenue, Norfolk
One of my stamp clubs met today, the Gourmet Stamp Club, and the hostess brought me flowers! Susan was the hostess today!
Thank you, Susan Tran, for the colorful bouquet!!! This lovely group of stampers has been together for many years and has continued to be unique as far as my clubs go. Yes, they meet once a month and yes, they are here to stamp and enjoy each other but ~ the hostess brings lunch (for everyone)!
Each month a different member is the hostess (and receives all the hostess benefits) and she brings a light lunch which everyone shares. It is a wonderful group of friends that enjoy stamping, learning what's new and each other. I love having them in my studio and creating with them!!!
The flowers are an extra bonus. Thanks, Susan!
Yesterday I concentrated on completing a 40 card swap for my Founders Circle group of friends. Kim Williams is the coordinator of the swap and we were to use stamps from the 2017 Holiday Catalog.
It is a relatively simple card using the Be Merry Designer Series Paper, Real Red card stock and Whisper White embossing powder. The little dots on the card are from a package of GLITTER ENAMEL DOTS on page 196 in the Annual Catalog. The 'merriest Christmas wishes' that I embossed is from a stamp set, Watercolor Christmas, that is coordinated with a PROJECT KIT on page 34 in the Holiday Catalog. I used this kit on Saturday at the vendor fair at Bayside Presbyterian Church (unfortunately, it was pretty much rained out!). The cards in the kit are below ~ what do you think? The kit is $20 and makes 20 cards ~ easily!!!
I was excited to be invited to have a booth at this event that is taking place today at Bayside Presbyterian Church (1400 Ewell Road ~ right off of Independence Blvd.). It has been organized by Laura Touhey who is a teacher assistant in a Special Education classroom at Landstown Middle School. It is an event supporting teachers and the money collected goes to the church scholarship fund. It starts at 10 AM and runs to 1 PM today ~ you can even get a little lunch for $4.00!
I decided that it would be super to introduce the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit coming to you when the HOLIDAY CATALOG lands in your mailbox ~ SOON! Or, you can stop by and see me from 10:00 to 1:00 today ~ I would love to see YOU!
I admit to making and sending lots of cards ~ sometimes to people that I have never met (through a group of demonstrators who share stories about those in need) and that I love to receive cards. The card above arrived this week and caught me by surprise. Not only is it a lovely card but the fact that Shelli and Sara took the time to write me a note and send me a card touched me. It says so much about why, after all these years, I am still in love with being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Stampin' Up! is worldwide now and Shelli is the Cofounder and Board Chair, Sara the CEO. Love these ladies and I am so proud of what they have accomplished.
I posted this information on Tuesday and forgot to include the OFFER CODE ~ so sorry, what was I thinking!!! The code if you would like to try PAPER PUMPKIN CRAFT BOX IN THE MAIL is HALFOFF0917!
The September Paper Pumpkin is described as FABULOUS. Of course I haven't seen it (until it arrives in my mail box) but Paper Pumpkin just gets better all the time! Did I tell you that absolutely EVERYTHING that you need (except SNAIL) is in the box and that the artists at Stampin' Up! have shared some great craft ideas with all the subscribers? It's true!
This is one of the cards we will be making at the end of the month in my COLORFUL SEASONS CLASS. This card combines the Colorful Seasons stamp set on page 147 in the catalog, the Color Theory Cardstock Pack on page 146 and the Daisy Punch on page 127. The class is scheduled on Tuesday, August 29, at 6:30 in the Cat/Art Studio. There will be 4 cards to make and we will be making 2 of each. The Color Theory Cardstock Pack is included in the price of the class. I think you will love it!
