HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The very best thing about being a STAMPIN' UP! Demonstrator is the friends you meet.  I met Debra Tack at lunch at a Stampin' Up! convention years ago and the reason we became friends was because of our cats.  This relationship has grown despite the fact that we are on opposite coasts ~ her creative cards are a treasure for me.  Here are a few appropriate for today ~ Happy Halloween!

Seasonal Chums & a SURPRISE!

Stamp set split

I wanted to give you a little more information about the stamp set, SEASONAL CHUMS, above.  I tried to explain yesterday how easy it is to use as designed or separately ~ as in cut the stamps apart for an entirely different look.  It is designed to create the little tag that you see on top of the stamp box.  When I cut it apart I was able to create the card at the top of the picture by masking off the center image.  And, I used the new BLENDS to color the pumpkins!  Like it?  Can't wait?

In addition, I also wanted you to know about the new Acetate Card Boxes in the Holiday Catalog ~ just in time for gift giving of your fabulous handmade cards!  They are really hard to find ~ go to page 13, on the left side at the bottom.  The order number is 144628 and they are $6.50  for 10 boxes.  They each hold five cards and envelopes.  And, SURPRISE, you can emboss them with the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder (and probably many more embossing folders ~ your choice!).  Here's mine ~

Card case embossed

This embossing folder is on page 37 in the Holiday Catalog.  Wouldn't this make lovely 'wrapping/presentation' for your lovely gifts?  I think so!

Happy National Cat Day!

Rather than post pictures of my silly cats I thought it best to post the cards from yesterday's CHRISTMAS CARD CLASS ~ like I told you I was going to do!  In the class we made 2 each of 3 different designs.  Since this was the fourth class in the series everyone who attended all the classes now has 24 handmade, different cards to send to friends.  These friends are way ahead of so many of us, right?

October Lantern Card

This card was inspired by an article in the recent publication from Stampin' Up!, STAMPIN' SUCCESS, 4th QUARTER.  You can find it on page 12 in the magazine or I can show you mine.  I changed mine but the article shows 3 cards ~ from simple to complex ~ the article is STEP IT UP.  The Seasonal Lantern Bundle is on page 40 in the Holiday Catalog.

October Reindeer w snowflake

This card is inspired by my friend, Kim Williams, in PA.  The cute stamp set, SEASONAL CHUMS, is on page 47 in the Holiday Catalog.  The set is designed to create double sided tags showing the front and back of a pumpkin, a snowman and this reindeer.  The nice thing is that the images can be used individually or as tags ~ either way it is cute!  We made two of these cards ~ one with pearls and one with rhinestones.

The last class.........

My Christmas Card Class started in July this year.  Today's class was the last one in the series.  It has been so much fun and I will miss seeing everyone next month.  So, I took pictures of everyone so I can look back at all these lovely ladies.  Tomorrow I will add pictures of the cards we made today.  Thanks for checking in this afternoon.  My next class will be my 2018 CALENDAR CLASS on November 18 ( 10:00 AM) and I still have several places available it you are interested.  EMAIL ME if you'd like to take the class and let me know how many 2018 calendars you'd like to make.  (They make great gifts!)   Hugs, Susan Elise

Plaid Pumpkin

Such a busy week!  So sorry not to have more time to blog.  We had appointments on Wednesday and Thursday was my Witches, Wine & Watercolor event!  As soon as that was over I started working on my Christmas Card Class which is tomorrow morning ~ and, I still have one card to 'invent' so this will be short and to the point.  And, the point is that the October Paper Pumpkin Kit arrived in my mailbox this week and it is darling!  Here is the fun video for you ~

Stitched Felt Embellishments

My team members (Southern Stars) met on Saturday afternoon.  The theme of our swap for our meeting was Christmas ideas/cards.  This was my swap card ~ but ~ wait 'til you see the swaps that they brought ~ GORGEOUS ~ I'll post them tomorrow!  It was a small group but a fun meeting!  If you have any questions about this card, or any others, be sure and let me know!

Felt tree card

I used the Stitched Felt Embellishments and the Quilted Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (page 5 in the Holiday Catalog) to make this card ~ easy and quick.  The Embellishments package contains 15 pieces, 5 trees, 5 holly w berries and 5 decorated stars.  I adhered the tree to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue on page 202 in the annual catalog.  Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure and come back tomorrow to see the Gorgeous Swap Cards by Marie, Marti, Wendy, Geri, and Barbara!

Shaker Christmas

October's PAPER PUMPKIN is a Christmas Shaker Card.  On Monday, Stampin' Up! will have some additional kits available to sell to demonstrators.  The sale starts at 2 PM (MT) and, if you are interested I would be happy to see if I could get one for you.  Watch the video and then email me if you would like me to purchase one for you.

The Gourmet Gang stamp club meets once a month in the Cat/Art Studio for stamping and lunch.  The hostess brings lunch for everyone in the club and this tradition has been going on for years ~ a lovely tradition!  Laurie Holtan, above, lives in Sykesville, Maryland and has been a club member for years.  She drove down for our club meeting this week ~ and, brought lunch (grapes, pumpkin bread, apple cake and her Hot Chicken Salad) !!!!
