Brusho Class

Brusho Class April 2018 blue butterfly card finished

This card was one of three that we created at my BRUSHO CLASS on Saturday morning.  There is so much to learn about 'the art of brusho'!  I am planning another class on May 26 to explore this medium further.  It will be a second class exploring additional techniques using one or two of the following ~ spray starch, cling wrap, embossing folders, salt crystals, bleach and/or soap bubbles.  (When I think of bubbles I think of the stamp set, Magical Mermaid! #144017)  The flower on the card below (Remarkable You, #139894 ~ retiring soon) was embossed in gold, sprinkled with Brilliant Red Brusho and spritzed with water.  The crystals can be free flowing or controlled depending on the technique used.

Contest closes on Friday, May 4!

Holly used Brusho Crystal Colour on page 26 in the Occasions Catalog.  My Brusho Class is tomorrow ~ can't wait to see my friends who are signed up!!!

Mermaids, Magic, Dragons & Wizards

Myths & Magic Suite in the Occasions Catalog (page 57) is absolutely one of my favorites.  The stamp set, dies, Designer Series Paper, Washi Tape and Glimmer Paper coordinates so well with the fantasy and magic of the images.

I have some super swap cards I have been wanting to show you ~ check these cute cards out today and tomorrow.  Let me know what you think!

Hand Delivered

Hand Delivered?  Yes, a cute new Hostess stamp set in Stampin' Up's 2018-2019 annual catalog ~ coming to you soon.  I said that I would post this yesterday so I owe you an apology.  I had an eye doctor's appointment and came back to the studio expecting to be able to finish my 'list' for the day.  Not.  I don't know why but that appointment put me under the weather for the rest of the day!  So...........finally..............save the Project Sheet for the future when you have (or, can borrow) the stamp set.  Too cute, right?

Swap continued...

DSP by Geri Foster

Pretty card by Geri Foster.  She used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  These dies will carry over to the new catalog in June and be part of  the collection of 70 other framelits, edgelits & thinlits!

Denise Caudron

Colorful card by Denise Caudron.  The Lemon Zest stamp set and punch will carry over but not as a bundle.

Butterfly Wendy Osborn

Gift card holder by Wendy Osborn.  The butterfly is silver embossed on vellum and colored from the back side ~ stained glass technique.

Animal Outing

Sarah Williams created this card using the new stamp set, Animal Outing, along with the thinlit die from Eclectic Layers (you can see it on page 133 in the annual catalog) which is returning.  YEA!  However, the Naturally Eclectic DSP (which I love) is retiring!  BOO!

See you tomorrow ~ a new hostess set!  Can't wait!

Swap cards.....

I haven't posted the swap cards from my last STARS meeting so I wanted to do it this afternoon.  ENJOY!

Animal Outing by Marie Shaughnessy

Card by Marie Shaughnessy.  She used a new stamp set called ANIMAL OUTING.  I think it is the first time that Stampin' Up! has included a Rhinoceros in a stamp set.  The set also includes a Giraffe and a Kanga with a surprise in her pocket.  And, Thinlits and DSP are included!  I can't wait for that new catty to go live ~ can you?  Be sure and let me know if you want me to order one for you!  (If you are in one of my stamp clubs ~ you are on the list!)

Under the Sea.........

Octopus Mariion Swaim

My team, SOUTHERN STARS, create swap cards for our monthly meetings.  I wanted to show the cards and decided to start with the card, by Marion Swaim, that won the prize for the best at our meeting.  Marion's card is using a stamp set (and embellishment) from the 2018-2019 catalog that will be available in June.  The stamp set is SEA OF TEXTURES.  Marion used the framelits, Under the Sea, to create the octopus and the 'net' in the upper right corner.  In addition she used new Designer Series Paper ~ Tranquil Textures.  The set and the framelit dies are bundled so we can save a little when we add this to our collection.  Thanks for stopping by ~ have a lovely Sunday!  Susan Elise
