Swaps from our team meeting

I wanted to share the great swaps from our last team meeting on May 12th.  The challenge was to use a technique and share how it was done.  I will add the name of the creator of the card and the technique next to it.  Cards will continue tomorrow with the winner (voted the best by the team members) ~ Karen Benton.

Brusho continued...

Two additional samples of using Brusho.  The first one if by Barb Raliski at our May Stamp Club meeting yesterday morning.  This is a project that we have been working on all month in stamp clubs.  It is so interesting because every one of the cards turned out differently ~ even though we all used the same materials and directions (below). Barb is a new stamper and we were both excited about the results she created!

Praying for you...Barb's card

The second card using Brusho is by Marion Swaim.  Marion is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and the card was her swap card at our monthly meeting this past Saturday in the Cat/Art Studio.  She used the beautiful Brusho colours effectively with a new stamp set, LILYPAD LAKE in the  2018 - 2019 Annual Catalog (if you want the new catalog be sure and let me know!).  Beautiful,  don't you think?

Brusho Crystal Colour Magic

I really enjoy working with the Brusho Crystals that Stampin' Up! introduced in the Occasions Catalog this year.  Although we just started experimenting with this art medium it has been around for years ~ created in England thirty some years ago.  Stampin' Up! has introduced five colours ~ Yellow, Prussian Blue, Moss Green, Gamboge and Brilliant Red.  However, there are thirty some colours in all!

I have had several classes using Brusho and have an additional one this month ~ on the morning of the 26th if you are interested ~ to teach some basic techniques.  I think that the joy of the medium is the spontaneity of the crystals ~ letting the paint do its own thing!  It is relatively inexpensive ~ a little goes a long way (your little containers will last for years!).  It is unpredictable and magical! Try it and send me a picture of the results ~ I would love to see what you created!

Serene Garden

I spent Sunday and Monday creating a swap card to send to Butler, PA.  My friend, Kim Williams, is hosting a swap using new products in the 2018 - 2019 Annual Catalog.  Alan took my 33 swaps to the post office this afternoon ~ so pleased to have my swaps in the mail (and, know that they will arrive before the 'deadline'! )  I used a new stamp set, SERENE GARDEN.  It is bundled with dies that are different than any we have had previously.  I tried the card two different ways, which do you like better?

Rainbow technique

Rainbow cards for swap May SS

The theme of tomorrow's swap for my team is TECHNIQUE.  Everyone will make their swap card using a specific technique and then explain the process before the swap.  I just finished my cards so I thought I would share them with you ~ all the products will be listed below.  I used the 'C' clear block to create my rainbow ~ with markers and a little spritz of water.

The best ideas come from friends....

Janie's Card 1

Janie came to Stamp Club on Tuesday night and brought the card, above, that she made while sitting and watching TV one night.  GORGEOUS!  She used the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper from the SWEET SOIREE SUITE in the Occasions Catalog (page 13).  She fussy cut (I know some of you are allergic to fussy cutting!) the flowers, created her card with another sheet of the DSP and glued the flowers on creatively.  This paper is retiring and is presently on the DISCOUNT LIST marked down from $13.00 to $10.40.  But, hurry if you want to order ~ nothing seems to last very long on that list.  Love that she shared with us!

The price under the picture of the Designer Series Paper, below, is the original price, not the discounted price.  You can click on the picture and go directly to my online store!  Thanks for sharing, Janie!!!

Discounts

I sent my MAY NEWSLETTER out yesterday (if you didn't get it let me know and I will add you to my list).  The newsletter includes the list of discounted  retiring products that STAMPIN' UP! posted yesterday.  I don't want you to miss it so I am adding it to the blog today.  I know you are aware that these discounted products sell out fast so take advantage of ordering online.  Just click on the kitty on the right of my blog to go to my online store & order these products.  They'll all be gone soon!   Let me know if you have questions.  Thanks for stopping by!  Susan Elise

DON'T MISS ALL THIS HAPPY IN ONE PLACE!

My sister, Judy, sent me this video yesterday.  She lives in Richmond and the video was filmed in Richmond to help raise funds for the public schools, particularly Binford Middle School.  Although Jason lives in California he is originally from Mechanicsville ~ outside of Richmond.  I love the music and the dancing ~ I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have!

PS:  I forgot to announce the winner of my CONTEST on April 29.  The post highlighted the April PAPER PUMPKIN KIT (purrrrrffect for Tidewater!) and I asked for suggestions for upcoming classes.  I got two emails ~ one from Jane Dodge (eclipse technique) and one from Dorothea Aull (window technique).  I think I can find two different PAPER PUMPKIN KITS and give them both a prize ~ tonight!  Thanks, ladies!
