Happy Valentine's Day!

Lasting Lily Musical MomentsAgain, twice in one week, so sorry for delays in posting 'inspiration' for all of us.  This fits under the category of 'project sheet Tuesday' ~ 2 days late.  Isn't it lovely?  The watermark indicates that this is a card I was able to use due to a wonderful group of demonstrators that I belong to online.  We each contribute to a co-op monthly by posting a project sheet and a picture of our card and then WE SHARE.  I love the group ~ so many fantastic ideas!  Here is the project sheet ~ enjoy Lasting Lily on page 19 in the original Sale-A-Bration Brochure ~ it is free with a purchase of product totaling $100.  (NEW SAB PRODUCTS AVAILABLE TOMORROW!)

A packed lunch.......

You may have been wondering where I have been for a couple of days so I thought I would post a little catch-up message.  Alan was sick on Friday night, better Saturday.  My team meeting was Saturday and I got what Alan had on Saturday night ~ only worse.  Slept all day on Sunday, better Monday but today ~ not so good.  I have postponed my early afternoon stamp club, we'll see about my club meeting tonight.  I have to get a little more perky to say the least.  In the meantime I finished a book I was reading ~ A New Song by Jan Karon.  You may have read the Mitford Series.  If not I would recommend it to you.  From an interview....

"“I believe that God gives each one of us creative gifts,” Karon said. “It’s kind of like how we send our children off to school with a packed lunch. God sends us into the world with a packed lunch. Everybody gets one. What you do with it, well you know, that's up to you. But age doesn’t matter.”

Try it Friday!

FB postI took this picture of a post on Facebook that I shared this week.  I had two responses ~ one from Katy and one from Jan.  Jan questioned the process and whether the color would remain on the glass after it had been 'washed'.  It was a good question so I decided that I had to try it to satisfy Jan's curiosity ~ and, mine.

Products used for vaseSo, I found a little vase in the cupboard, food coloring and my 'Elmer's Glue' (actually PVA which is a professional quality adhesive similar to Elmer's ~ which I don't have.  PVA is close!).  I mixed blue food coloring into the glue and painted my vase.  I let it dry overnight and 'washed' it the next morning.  Mine didn't turn out as lovely as the ones in the FB picture but it's color remained strong!  Try it, Jan!

From the Richmond Times....

Good Morning!  This post is not exactly 'craft' related but it is definitely worth reading.  My sister, Judy, who lives in Richmond sent it to me this weekend.  I have dealt with something similar recently (not quite as detailed but just as scary) so I thought it would be worth passing this on to all of you!   Click on the link below ~ Susan Elise

Stampin' Up! Weekly Updates

Stampin' Up! keeps their world wide demonstrators informed of important topics on a weekly basis.  I thought you would be interested in yesterday's Weekly Update.....

Counterfeit Stampin’ Up! Products Q&A

As some of you may be aware, an e-commerce site called AliExpress has been selling counterfeit Stampin’ Up! products on their website. We want to say thank you to those of you who have reached out to us about this issue and give you a brief overview of the situation—and what we’re doing to resolve this ongoing problem.

Q: What is Stampin’ Up! doing to actively address this issue?

A: The compliance team in Demonstrator Support searches for counterfeit products on AliExpress and other similar sites (e.g., Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, etc.) on a daily basis. They are also researching counterfeit products reported by demonstrators to each of our Demonstrator Support offices.

Q: Why does this seem so difficult to fix?

A: Taking action against counterfeit Stampin’ Up! products is complicated and time-consuming. One of the biggest problems we face in addressing this issue is that once a counterfeit item has been removed, a listing for that same counterfeit item often appears with another store—or the same seller using a different name.

Q: Is the situation improving?

A: Yes! One positive aspect of this complicated process is that once we’ve gone through the reporting procedure with these sites for a product, the process for removing additional listings for that product is faster. We continue to learn from this challenge and explore our options for addressing these problems.

Q: Is there any information we should be sharing with our customers about counterfeit Stampin’ Up! products?

A: Yes. Make sure your customers know that counterfeit Stampin’ Up! products are low-quality and not up to our standards. Unfortunately, copyright infringement is rampant overseas, and the most effective way to stop it is for your customers to stop purchasing these second-rate, counterfeit products.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and assistance as we work to resolve this ongoing issue. We’ll keep you updated if there are any new developments.

Project Sheet Tuesday

Strong & BeautifulThis beautiful card uses the vellum from the FLORAL ROMANCE SPECIALTY DSP on page 11 in the Occasions Catalog.  The stamp set is STRONG & BEAUTIFUL on page 48 in the same catalog.  I love the colors and the design of this vellum ~ so much so that we are using it in our stamp clubs this month.  Not to make this card but another using the HEALING HUGS stamp set on page 110 in the annual catalog.  In fact, both of our stamp club projects use vellum this month ~ it must be vellum Valentine month!  Click on the link below for the directions ~

Best Catch

No, the title of the post doesn't have anything to do with the Super Bowl last night ~ there weren't too many catches in that game.  The title does have to do with the stamp set (bundle) on page 44 in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog.  Here is the set, Best Catch, and the dies, Catch of the Day, that are bundled together ~

Stamp set & dies

You can see the dies clearly on the magnetic sheet that I keep in the box with the stamps.  I order these magnetic sheets from Stamp & Storage in MN.  I have recently ordered extras to share with my stamping friends so if you would like to have several just let me know.  They are $2.50 per sheet and fit purrrrfectly in our stamp boxes.

Card #simplestampingI created this card this afternoon for my team swap this coming weekend.  Our theme is #simplestamping and I hope that my card fulfills the criteria ~ it is a little hard to know at this point.  I do like the card and it is much more simple than my usual layers, etc.  The trout was stamped on the pretty Grapefruit Grove foil sheets from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  The camera picked up the colors from surrounding light as I took the picture!   What do you think?

Let me know if you would like some of the magnetic sheets for storing dies.  EMAIL ME here!
