Wicked ~ Happy Halloween

I showed this card from my CREEPY HALLOWEEN CLASS in my blog post on October 7.  You might remember that we used the MERCURY GLASS DESIGNER ACETATE (#150441) that you can find on page 33 in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog.  The 12" x 12" acetate sheets have a mercury glass finish in two different designs.  The WICKED die (page 55 HC) is purrrfect for today!  The video below will show you another way to use the acetate ~ this time with the STITCHED STARS DIES on page 10 in the Holiday Catalog.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

 

 

                                                

Project Sheet Tuesday

We've used the COME TO GATHER SUITE (page 47, Holiday Catalog) several times as we look forward to Fall.  Here is another great card using the dies with the set.  Remember that there are seven dies and three of those leaf dies emboss and cut!  This 'Thank you' card should be easy and quick!!!

Oval Brush & Masks

Marti also reminded me that I hadn't let you know about a new brush that makes 'sponging' color onto cardstock very easy.  Traditionally I would use SPONGE DAUBERS (#133733, page 181 in the annual catalog) to add ink over a mask like the one above but I found a new brush being used on a video and decided to try it.  It is a BEAUTIQUE Oval Brush and I ordered it on Amazon also.  It is a make-up brush and comes in a variety of sizes.  I don't know who 'discovered' that it is a great art tool but it makes 'sponging' easy and quick.  I was using the  BASIC PATTERN DECORATIVE MASKS on page 35 in the Holiday Catalog and DELICATA METALLIC INK (page 16, Holiday Catalog) to add a design to the tops of my coffins.  This soft oval brush is just right for the job!  Try it!

Art Glitter

Marti reminded me yesterday that I hadn't added 'art glitter' to my blog posts.  Sorry about that.  In our October Team (Southern Stars) meeting Sarah Williams mentioned a new glue in response to my expressing problems when I was creating my coffins for Halloween.  I was using Tear and Tape and it was taking a long time to make each of the coffins.  Too long.  Sarah (who always has great recommendations) said that she has been using the 'art glitter' designer adhesive ~ it dries clear and sticks quickly and securely.  I ordered mine from Amazon so, of course, it arrived quickly and I started using it immediately to finish my coffins.  I have been using it since so I wanted to recommend it to you.  You can also find it at www.artglitter.com along with the largest line of glitter you ever saw ~ about 1,000 different colors!!!

Yesterday was fun!

I thought I would share some pictures from the UNIQUE BOUTIQUE, yesterday ~ supporting LEE'S FRIENDS.  There were about thirty vendors there ~ from Avon to Tupperware ~ and all of us in between.  It was a very FULL house!  I brought my cute little paper pumpkins, treat boxes, fabulous cards and LOTS of information about STAMPIN' UP!  Of course my table looked a little Halloweeny so I wore a cute little hat that I found at the Leigh Memorial Hospital Gift Shop earlier in the week.

Winter Woods

While I am spending the day at the UNIQUE BOUTIQUE (do come visit if you have a little time ~ it is a super event!) Tuesday Project Sheet

I love making 3" x 3" cards to fit our tiny envelopes (#145829 on page 168).  I use our 12" x 12" Whisper White cardstock  because there is NO waste ~ score at 3" and 9" and cut at 6".  Put the two halves together and cut at 3", 6" and 9" to make 8 of these cute little note cards to surprise a friend on Halloween.
