Fun Class last Sunday afternoon in the Cat/Art Studio ~ For the Love of Felt! These three cards are from the PROJECT KIT on page 201 in the Annual Catalog that makes 12 cards! Katy loved it! More information tomorrow and the next class is February 29 ~ let me know if you are interested ~
This is one of the cards that we made at the Poppy Party Open House this weekend, I thought you might like the Project Sheet so that you can make your own. I stamped the poppy with Memento ink and colored it in the Stampin' Blends. The blends that I used are Poppy Parade, Old Olive and a touch of Light Balmy Blue on the left side of the stem and the flower for a little shading. I was planning on using Melon Mambo Blends but, guess? Stampin' Up! does not have blends in the color ~ surprise! Anyway, remember when you are using blends, use the light blend first, shade with the dark blend and come back with the light blend before the ink dries to blend the two colors together ~ light, dark, light! Print off the instructions for this card, unfortunately we all need Sympathy cards. I am thinking of having a class just for Sympathy cards, what do you think? Good idea or not?
There have been so many questions this month about the PEACEFUL POPPIES SUITE on page 25 in the SPRING MINI CATALOG and, frankly, I couldn't honestly answer all the questions. And, you know why? Because I hadn't taken the time to look (and listen) to all of the videos that Stampin' Up! has on their demonstrator website. (Shame on you Susan Elise!) So, last night I finally spent some time checking out the videos and I am so glad that I did. You are going to LOVE this one! I can't wait until you see it! It includes an enthusiastic explanation of TWO STAMP SETS and TWO SETS OF DIES and WHY they are arranged the way they are!!! Let me know what you think...........
It was a sunny warm day in Norfolk today and it was so great to have friends stop by to celebrate the SPRING MINI CATALOG and SALE-A-BRATION (SAB) with me ~ and the cats (even though Tripod was the only one who joined the party ~ and I think it was because Jan was here to give him lots of kitty hugs!). We had cards to make, a BOGO sale, a Scavenger Hunt and Alan brought baby cupcakes from Wegman's!
I have been working on some little Meerkat favors for my open house tomorrow. I have made 12 so the first 12 stampers who join me in the Cat/Art Studio will receive a favor. I have been using THE GANG'S ALL MEER which you can find in the Sale-A-Bration brochure ~ a cute little group of Meerkats helping to celebrate a friend's birthday. Meerkats are part of the Mongoose Family, can be found in Africa and eat scorpions!!! Join me tomorrow for some more fun & be one of the lucky ones who get a Meerkat Favor! Text me if you can come ~ 641-9354!
The DRESSED TO IMPRESS BUNDLE is on pages 54 ~ 56 in the Spring Mini Catalog. The bundle includes the stamp set and the All Dressed Up Dies. The dies are designed to cut around the images in the stamp set. And, the dies include a 'purse' that is designed to hold 3" x 3" cards. The bundle is $47.50 which saves you 10%.
Stampin' Up! also has a BEST DRESSED SUITE. The suite includes the bundle, above, and sheer linen ribbon, 3" x 3" Best Dressed Note Cards & Envelopes and a set of 18 tassels in three different colors.
I received two cards using this stamp set in a recent swap ~ both using the 'parfum bottle ~ and, the same colors ~ Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. A great suite for lady friends ~ no matter what age ~ and the 6" x 6" Best Dressed Designer Series Paper is so pretty! Reminds me of one of my favorite little cocktail napkins ~
The Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper (152311) is Black and White with gold foil accents on some of the designs. It can be paired with the Honey Bee Bundle on page 30 in the Spring Mini Catalog but it certainly doesn't have to be ~ it can easily stand on its own and it's FREE with a $50 Stampin' Up! order during Sale-A-Bration (SAB). In STAMP CLUB this month we used the HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU stamp set which is also in the SAB brochure. I added some of the the Golden Honey DSP to the cards we made to show you how versatile this paper is. And, the video below will show you more possibilities.
Another Valentine idea for you! This one uses the HEARTFELT BUNDLE on page 9 in Stampin' Up!'s Spring Mini Catalog. It coordinates with the FROM MY HEART SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER (yesterday's video) and the two punches in the bundle fit right over the hearts in the paper making card creating EASY PEASY!
