My friend, Margaret, stopped by this week and saw a piece of Very Vanilla on my workspace that I had embossed with the Painted Posies embossing folder (page 177 AC). She asked what I was going to do with it and I didn't have a good answer but it got me thinking ~ what was I going to do with that lovely design? Later on I got out my watercolor pencils and my water painters to color in the design and this is what I came up with. What do you think?
Abigail Rose would be a beautiful name for a darling little girl, wouldn't it? In this case it is the title of a package of 12" x 12" designer series paper on page 131 in Stampin' Up!'s annual catalog. Some of the designs invite you to color so last night I used my Watercolor Pencils (page 126 AC) and my Water Painters (page 129 AC) to color the bouquet below. It is a simple technique coloring with the pencils and blending with water. I primarily used the fine tip brush. There are three in the package ~ 1 fine tip, 1 medium tip and 1 large flat brush tip. If you try this technique send me a picture of your creation ~ I would love to share it here!
LIGHT THE CANDLES CARD KIT

Another card using the PARADISE PALMS BUNDLE which includes four sentiments ~ birthday, warm and beachy, a little paradise and the one in the post title, retirement wishes. It is difficult to find a stamp appropriate for a retiring friend ~ this might be just what you need!
I added the page numbers for this stamp set and dies in the new annual catalog. But, did you know that these two are BUNDLED in the January - June 2022 MINI CATALOG? That's right, the bundle price saves you 10% and it is available for 5 MORE DAYS! The mini catalog expires on the last day of this month so ~ order online or give me a call if you have an order ~ I am happy to help! Susan Elise
My stamping friends had questions recently about a swap card displayed on my bulletin boards ~ how did she do that? The SUN PRINTS COLLECTION includes the stamp set above, dies, DSP and a FERN 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER.
This is the swap card in question. I emailed Linda to ask ~ how did you do that. She responded that she used a blending brush and ink pad direct to paper technique. So I tried it using the blending brush and my PARAKEET PARTY stamp pad on Basic White cardstock. Next I embossed with the Fern Embossing Folder (page 176 AC) and lightly skimmed the stamp pad over the top.
Let me know what you think?
