Stampin' Seal Advice

This is such a great little video that I had to share it with you ~ great advice from New Zealand.  I have delayed using this new adhesive because I wanted to use my supply of Stampin' Up!'s previous adhesive ~ SNAIL.  You can find the NEW on page 162 in the Annual Catalog.  Stampin' Seal (152813) is $8 and the refill (152814) is $5.50.  Stampin' Seal + (149699) is $12 and the refill (152812) is $8.00.  I have had difficulty using Stampin' Seal but the advice from this lovely Demonstrator has made my life easier.  Stampin' Seal + is wonderful!

A LITTLE REMINDER ~ Today is the last day to sign up for my NOVEMBER CALENDAR CLASSES ~ Sunday, November 1, Thursday, November 5 or Saturday, November 7.  All classes are at 1 PM.  EMAIL ME NOW to sign up!

Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

I just wanted you to know that it arrived!

Demonstrators can order the new machine early ~ a month early to be exact ~ and I have been waiting for mine to arrive.  I unpacked it today ~

Unboxing 1

UNBOXING 2So excited!  But, the handle is not attached (Alan wasn't home) so I haven't used it yet.  I do love the way it works ~ the way it closes to use a much smaller space and the weight ~ it didn't move once I put it on the counter.  I'll get that handle on and use it so ~ more coming!

Coming tomorrow ~ Stampin' Up!'s New Online Store

Stampin' Up!'s staff have been busy creating a new look for the online store that you have been using.  I think you will like it.

What's new?

  • The store will work with desktops, tablets and mobile phones.
  • The pictures that you will see will be larger and will allow you to see more details in the products.
  • You will be able to add/save your payment information.
  • You can create your own personal 'Wish List'.
  • Products will include 'backorder' and 'low inventory' information.
  • Simpler terminology, e.g., patterned paper instead of Designer Series Paper.
  • A simpler and easier checkout process.

Since this is a new site, your account password will only work if you enter it manually the first time.  If you know your password you won't have a problem.  If you don't remember your password, log in today and reset your password and write it down.  When you log in on August 4, or later in the month, you can save/bookmark your password again.

As always, you will know that you are shopping with me if you see my name at the top of the page.  And, with each $50 order you make be sure and let me know so that it will be recorded on your CAT CARD!  The AUGUST HOSTESS CODE is UWRBACJF.  Using the code adds you to my list of customers entered into a drawing at the end of the month ~ the winner receives Stampin' Up! certificate for more product!

Stampin' Up!'s BOHO INDIGO

Swap card 1My July Newsletter Update went out to all of you on my newsletter list on Sunday evening this week (I hope you got it, if not, please let me know!) and one of the topics that I discussed was Stampin' Up!'s Kits.  There are several different kinds ~ this one is called a PRODUCT MEDLEY.  Why?  Because it includes stamps, paper, dies, and accessories for creating whatever you want!  The beautiful cards in this post are from a recent swap that I participated in with demonstrators who also served on Stampin' Up!'s advisory board years ago!  You can find this BOHO INDIGO KIT on page 9 in the annual catalog to learn the details about all of the accessories that come in the kit (there is even a REFILL KIT available!).  Stampin' Up! does have kits for beginning stampers but this one is designed for someone who has been creating with stamps and paper for awhile.  Enjoy your creativity ~ share your creations ~ I would love to see them and to share what you create!

Tuesday Update from Stampin' Up!

Since many of you have your new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog in hand I thought I would share the following information from Stampin' Up! in the Tuesday Update ~

There is always a risk of products going into backorder during a demonstrator preorder or within the first few weeks after the customer launch. We do our best to forecast how you or your customers may react to new products, but sometimes we sell through our inventory much more quickly than we expect.

The following products are currently outperforming their initial forecast and are at risk of going into backorder or not orderable status before we receive additional inventory:

  • 153548: Snowflake Splendor 1/4" (6.4 mm) Ribbon
  • 153547: Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems
  • 153553: Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack
  • 153554: 3/8" (1 cm) Embroidered Ribbon
  • 153493: Mini Coffee Cups
  • 153527: Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper
  • 153508: Mini Coffee Carrier

This information may create an even higher demand on many of these items, but we feel it’s better to let you know now so you can adapt your plans.

This is the cover of the new MINI CATALOG that will give all of us some great ideas from now until the end of December!  And, it is coming your way soon!  I made the decision to send my catalogs out myself ~ I wanted to try it and see if this would be a good way to get them to you.  My order arrived yesterday and, fortunately or unfortunately, I over ordered!  Oh my!

This is the August ~ December 2020 Mini Catalog, Handmade for You, and includes beautiful Fall colors for Thanksgiving, spooky spiders for Halloween, a Polar Bear on ice skates for Winter, gorgeous snowflakes in shades of Balmy Blue and Highland Heather for the holidays and even some hearts for Valentine's Day.  Check below for my cute owl card using the HAVE A HOOT stamp set on page 62.

My goal is to send the catalogs out by the beginning of next week or sooner.  Hopefully USPS will cooperate and deliver them quickly (last week we didn't get any mail for 4 days!).  If you want your mini catalog more quickly, just give me a call (757-641-9354) and stop by and pick one up in the Cat/Art Studio ~ 2758 Murray Avenue, Norfolk.

Stampin' Up!'s Playful Pets

I hope your day has been a real treat!  Mine has!  I reconnected with a friend from years ago and found out about her darling store that every dog owner should know about!  It is the WEST VILLAGE BARKERY in Newport News.  I have known Jean for ages, she is a stamper (and, even has cute stamped 'dog cards' in her store) and a dog trainer.    The store specializes in training, grooming, a doggy bakery (birthday cakes!) and lots of cute doggy stuff.  You can find more information at

The card below is one of many I have made using the PLAYFUL PETS SUITE on page 40 in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog.  It is the purrrrfect suite for anyone who has a pet companion ~ cat or dog.  The Bundle (10% discount) includes the stamp set and dies.  In addition you will find trinkets, trim and really great designer series paper.  More cards tomorrow and......a tip on using Foam Adhesive Sheets.  Let me know what you think about Jean's cute store!  I have a feeling that some of you know Jean and perhaps have been to the store to buy something special for your pet.  Am I right?

ITEM: 155380 $9.00 USD| QTY: 1

Protect your workspace with this double-sided grid paper that includes metric and imperial measurements. Features our fabulous new In Colors: Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, and Misty Moonlight. 25 sheets. 11" x 17" (28 x 43 cm).

This is just one of the bundles available tonight and tomorrow if you want to join Stampin' Up! and receive a FREE bundle!  It is the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle (page 51 AC) and one we all used yesterday at my New Catalog Celebration.  We made the card below using the new In-Color stamp pads and the stamp set,

Magenta Card for celebration

The second card that we made uses the dies from the Bundle.  We made it easy by using the new ADHESIVE SHEETS that you can find on page 162 AC.  The sheets make it possible to easily adhere the entire die cut piece to the card front.  Again we used the new In-Colors ~ cardstock this time.  I love the new Adhesive Sheets because they are easy to use and the results are terrific ~ can you imagine trying to glue this diecut to the base card with any other adhesive?  I would have little piles of glue seeping out around the design.  Gross.

This is the stamp set in the Bundle that we used yesterday ~ check it out and remember we have just a little over 24 hours to order it with the STARTER KIT for FREE!
